I was recently in a kart race around Tokyo R246. If you've ever done kart racing around that track, you will know that it is mainly just groups of about 5 or 6 people drafting each other down the straights. Everybody was in the original PDI 100 Racing Kart, except for a few with the DLC 100 Racing Kart.
The race started with me in 2nd, and a bad start dropped me down into 3rd. Despite being closely behind 1 and 2, I was not getting any draft at all. I know that the PDI Kart has a top speed of about 86mph, increasing to about 96-99mph with a draft (which is excessive in itself lol), but I did not receive this draft at all. My kart would not go past 86mph. Groups of about 3 or 4 karts, all drafting me and each other, would shoot past me down every straight. Even when I tucked right in behind them, my kart would still not budge past 86 mph. The 10+mph deficit was impossible to make up around the corners. The lap times I was doing in free run (where drafting is off) were the 2nd fastest, and yet in the 12 person race I finished over 20 seconds behind the guy in 11th
I checked the replay afterwards, and sure enough all of the other Karts were doing around 97mph down the long straights while I was stuck at 86. I'm not new to the drafting physics in GT5 and I know that I was in the correct position to draft the kart ahead. I this a first, or has anyone else had this?
This was also not a one off, the next race was around the Nordschleife and exactly the same happened to me there
the curse wasn't lifted until I left and found another lobby.
