Drag and Drifting championships in career mode

Before I played GT6 I was a fan of the Need for Speed: Shift series and they had a drift championship where you got the chance to face Vanghn Gittin. Jr and I really enjoyed it.
Not so much played in the drag racing scene but why not have one?
