does anyone else except me enjoy messing around with their cars just to get the fastest 1/4 mile or 400m time? if anyone has any good settings let me know....also if this topic is on some other part of the site, let me know...so far, my fastest car(not f1) is the ruf rgt, i got it to run a 8.06 or 9.06 in the 1/4 mile. ive found that starting off in 2nd gear in some cars can shave a lot of time off. thanks

enuff downforce on the front to keep the wheels on the ground (you aint gonna turn)
enuff downforce on the rear to get traction... (dont want wheel spin...

simple

gt40 racer, you do have stuff like full racing drivetrain, full, lightening, etc., right? If so play with the individual gear ratios but be sure to write the stock setting down in case you make it worse, and you can also make adjustments with the suspension to gain very small amounts of time.

from memory my rgt ruf has done high 8s either 8.8 or 8.9s

Downforce is never useless in drags, its very important. You need to keep the wheels planted frimly on the track.

I'm pretty good at setting up cars for drag(especially gearing), my best time with my RUF RGT is...

0-400m: 8.887sec
0-1000m: 15.779sec

Fully modified of course! Gearing is not that short suprisingly, with the set-up I run it turns those times and has a top speed of 220mph.

Also this was a FIRST gear start, second gear makes is slower due to the way I have the tranny set-up.

Oh, and I love toying with gears, if you have you have problems with your transmission in a car or you want me to try different gears for your set-up let me know.
