Alright gang, I only have a few trophies left to get and one of them happens to be the dream drifter trophy. I was wondering if anyone has some advice (for a rookie) such as the car to use (settings) and the best track to get this done on. I'm not a drifter and just want to be able to aquire this trophy and be done with it. Thanks.

Rage!
Tips are all over the forum bro, and just look at the top place cars in the seasonal leader-boards.

Yes, RAGE is what I feeling when I tried this, lol. Will have a look to see if I can find anything useful. Thanks for the reply.

That was the very first trophy I got in GT5... After my very first drift lap in a M3
28th of Decemeber 2011, good old times

To tell ya the truth man... i dont mess with my suspension at all. I just tweet my transmission and put on a set of comfort hards. If you take a.... lets just say the premium Toyota Supra... mod it out... put a set of ch tires on it... you will get this trophy. It may take a bit to get use to the grip level... but you will get the hang of it. Hope this helps.

This trophy is ridiculously easy for CH users. It was my very first achievement too, and i wasn´t expecting.

Easy track for getting this trophy on is Grand Valley Speedway . It has 5 sections to drift . If interested I could send my evo to use really easy car to drift.

A RWD evo? Or do you just think you're Ken Block?

Who cares about trophies and points, go tandem like a man, a foot from somebodies rear bumper :D

I did this in Chamonix Main Drift trial in Arcade mode with a Ford Focus WRC car.

Here is the point breakdown that you should be aiming for:

1st Sector: 6000+
2nd Sector 1500+
3rd Sector 500+
4th Sector 500+
5th Sector 1500+

It will take a few tries but this is how I got the trophy. Good luck!

KB18FAN is just wanting the trophy mate. He also stated that he don't drift just offering a car that may be easier to control so he can obtain the trophy
.

This and add a lot of camber
The premium Supra is a nice drifter, and a little tip your speed while drifting for points on GT5 isn't that important as long as your car has good angle and your tires are spinning fast you'll be good. Oh and watch a few drift trial replays you'll see what I mean

The seasonal drift event going on right now.
The first one of the two, you have to use a racing car and I just used the Blitz car.

Got it first try without knowing about the achievement.

Thanks for all the tips guys, really appreciate it. Had another try at it again this morning and the best I could get is in the 7000's. I've been a Tsukaba, but I'll try Grand Valley. This is my last trophy now besides the two A-Spec 24hr. races. Thanks again for the tips. Going to try them now. Peace.

Try mine. It really works because I'm crap at drifting and on my 3rd go, I got the trophy.

Any special setup on the car? Did you use wheel or controller?

I second this. This is also the suggestion presented in the trophy guide at "PS3trophies.org", so it's bound to be the easiest.

Just try a first run driving normally (rally style) and if that doesn't cut it, try to work out the corners where you can angle your car some more without losing control, and work from there.

I did a few quick test runs (I'm not a very good drifter too) and, for me, the controller is better for the 1st section and the wheel wins on the others. So check where you're missing the most target points and choose accordingly.

For reference:

3 runs with controller: 1 result - 11312 with 8000ish on the first section;
3 runs with wheel: 2 results in the 10 thousands with 6000ish in the first section and more than the controller on the others.

Good luck.

No special setup and I was using a DS3 with sensitivity on 0. I found it on PS3Trophies.org.

Ok, will give it another try today. I can't believe how something seemingly so easy can elude me for so long, lol. As in life, it always is the last thing that gives you trouble, lol. Anyways, thanks Ross and the rest of you also for your help. I'll let ya know how it turns out. Peace.

No problem mate. I hope you are successful.

Finally got the trophy using this method. Thanks a ton for your help. Really appreciate it. Peace. \/

Well done! It's always satisfying when you here the ping of a trophy.

Thanks Ross. Only 2 more trophies to go!!! Just the two 24hr. A-Spec races. Just one race will probabl take me a week, lol.

Good luck with that. I might try and do them in the summer. I still need the Vettel challenge, Gold standard and many more to get.

I unlocked this trophy with a stock sls with comfort tires around eiger norwand.is you using a wheel or controller because I'm a good drifter with a wheel

I suspect it's been said already, but my girlfriend (with 3 weeks GT5 drifting experience) managed to do this in the current NSX seasonal drift trial. 5 sections in a car as stable and planted as an NSX (hit the drift setup depot, I'm sure you can find a decent tune), should be an easy get for someone with sim racing experience.

Edit: I guess this goes for anyone still trying to get this and reads this before the seasonals change, as the OP has figured it out.

Lol Ken Block is awesome :D

An entire FOOT?! Thats toooooo far away, you gotta get so close people in the lobby are saying "Get of me!!!"
