Dream..........!?!

So..........more of a sad thread than anything.

Last night, I had a dream that my GT2 showed up. The feel of the alcantera, the smell of the new wheel, the smoothness of the force feedback when I opened it.

And it was just a dream. Can't the end of May hurry the f#*k up? lol.

I so want to play some GT5/forza/S2U/Dirt.
 
When my new GT2 arrived hmmm was a very nice day. Then just didn't work on Xbox /worked well on PS3/ so I had to send it back to Fanatec... That was not a good moment. But the happy end is they sent me a new wheel immediately before I sent the wrong one back.👍

I hear that! that is when my G27 should be shipped out (if they get a shipment) :nervous:
 
Yeah its interesting both wheels (Fanatec & G27) are delayed to the same predicted date. Both delays are caused by similar issues perhaps?

Im not sure, but kind of interesting. I have almost twice, cancelled the order, and got the GT3 rs instead.
 
What Fanatec should consider is developing a method whereas a gt3rs could be upgraded to a gt2. Like, let the user plugin whatever device the xbox 360 requires to be recognized. You know, similar to plugging a hard drive into an xbox 360. This would help them clear out their gt3rs inventory and would give existing gt3rs owners a reason to expand and spend more $$$.

Fanatec are very clever guys so I am sure they would do it if they could. I'm just daydreaming here. Just seems odd the gt3rs is in full stock when it's practically the same exact wheel as a GT2. Just missing the xbox 360 compat.

I'll try PM'ing this idea to Thomas. I am sure he already would've considered such avenues no doubt though

Idea #2: or just have some sort of exchange program. Let Fanatec customers buy a GT3rs then switch them out with a gt2. They do something somewhat similar to switching out defunct standard pedals for clubsports from what I've read here

I currently have orders for both the G27 and GT2. Hoping my replacement DFGT will last till they arrive (on my 5th DFGT now).
 
^^^ That's similar to what I'm doing. I had to purchase a wheel to get me by. I'm really just being preemptive by ordering the GT2 now before the Forza 4 rush hits Fanatec. I expect wheel stands, etc to also be in short supply so trying to get all that stuff organized now
 
I wish i would have kept my microsoft wheel. That would at least get me by till the GT2 arrives. It's killing me. Oh well. I got socom 4 and killzone 3 with the sharpshooter to hold me over till then.
 
I dont know why but there are a whole heap of G27s where I live. All pretty competitively priced as well at ~$450NZD (360USD, 217GBP)(wow the US Dollar is in the crapper at the moment)
 
Well looks like the 'dream' is over for me for now. I decided to go ahead and proceed with canceling my order after a whole lot of thought (just emailed them using the form at the store). I think I would've been fine if it would've shipped out early May/late April and if maybe they would've given us more updates.

But maybe not- just couldn't go without a wheel for so long which lead me to the t500rs purchase. funny thing is I was still willing to get the gt2 wheel, but meh, I don't want 2 wheels all at once. And it's kinda hard justifying a gt2 purchase just for one game, Forza. In my case, I can play every other game I desire with the t500rs

I am kind of interested in seeing if Microsoft/Turn 10 will announce a new FFB wheel. Would be down to buy a cheaper wheel perhaps for the xbox 360 if I could just walk into a store pick it up like I did with my t500rs. Maybe by the time forza 4 releases, Fanatec will get a bit better about maintaining wheel supplies :grumpy:
 
Im sure you will love the t500 rs.

I was gonna change my order to a gt3. But I decided I would wait. It does suck that the wait continues. But in the end, I think I will be happier with the GT2 over the GT3 rs V2.

Back in march when i ordered it, i thought, ahhhhhhhh, a month and a half is forever. Now its May, and thinking ahhhhhh, a month is so long. lol.

It just keeps getting harder and harder.

Im sure they won't keep their stock up when forza comes around. It will probably make it worse. Hence me getting it now.
 
Yeah they will no doubt get hard when forza 4 ships. Might be another 3 month wait for a back ordered gt2 lol
 
I ordered mine in anticipation of Nascar the Game 2011, a complete fail of a game. Thankfully there is still Forza and Dirt 2 for the xbox. I also splurged and got a dank desktop for iRacing. Worth every penny!

I am in the luck that I placed my order early January and received mine mid-February. First one was faulty, the replacement is amazing. For as impatient of a person that I am, it was worth the wait.

Keep the dream alive! When you have it in your hands, you will not regret the wait!

I too am interested to see if turn 10 / microsoft will have a new FFB in order for Forza4. It would not surprise me if they do. They are missing out on a market that could use 1-2 more good competitors to even it out. I have been saying this for months. Develop a new wheel that consists of a clutch and 6spd shifter for let's say $150ish and rule the market. The old MS wheel is skyrocketing in price due to it being discontinued. They are going for 2-3 times value do to this.
 
Yeah I have to wait for Dirt 3 if I want to play it on console (t500rs = ps3/pc only). I'm talking my buddy into getting dirt 3 on the ps3 to play along with me

Back to the gt2, just saw Thomas / Fanatec hint at the clubsport shifter for the E3 announcement (in that Fanatec thread here). I guess this will be a bonus for me to wait just a few more months and see where that goes (by that time i will have settled into life with my new wheel and wont feel bad for ordering a 2nd one). I was also hoping he might consider making another wheel to compete with t500rs. I see some pc sim racers (iRacing forums) jumping ship to t500rs because they feel it gets them closer to the ECCI wheels. Then again a cheaper xbox only wheel would be more along my interests but anyway

There's a lot of possibilities. I am very pumped to see what develops :D
 
I've never owned a wheel before in my life but absolutely love racing games and cars, hence the reason I don't mind waiting. I ordered now to get in before the rush of Forza 4. Games like Forza, Dirt 3 will be a blast to play. At the same time I can't wait to play my simbin games as well.
