An example of what you mean would be of great help, LongbowX. 👍

I was just thinking about making an abstract theme. I'll work on an entry once I finish my entry for this week's custom comp.

That's all the help I can give you as the host of this competition. Wait until LongbowX answers to you. Maybe he'll give you an example.

I will give an example. Though "abstract" and "surreal" are different things. Surreal is something that is identifiable (usually) but is shown in an unusual (and "unreal") way. Abstract is a bit more...unrecognizable. However, since this is a drift competition, I still want to see the drift in some way. Likely, this will involve lots of blur (but surreal can be achieved without). If I could find my usb stick I would show you one of mine. But since I can't - here are a few that I think are representative. I can think of a few others that fit, but they have been erased.

This one is the best example, in my opinion (speeddemon08's entry - Customised Competition - Week 8): https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showpost.php?p=3595482&postcount=23

A few others:

TheStig13's entry - Unedited-Week 60 (surreal): https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showpost.php?p=3602654&postcount=18
DanielL5583's entry - PmC - Week 181 :https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showpost.php?p=3583350&postcount=5

Not a drifiting one.

I know it isn't. The point was me showing examples of what style of photograph I'm talking about. It doesn't matter if they aren't drift shots. I just wanted to give people an idea of what an "abstract/surreal" style might look like.

I see now! Thanks for the examples, LongbowX. 👍

Thanks ,I didn't really know what do to make it surreal or abstract.

I think it is what LongbowX is looking for. No worries. 👍

He's right, I'm looking for your interpretation of the instructions. And you did a good job doing that. Very much like the warm feel to it. The composition is well done too. Great job. ^^

I liked how I managed to make the rear wheel seem to be 3-D(ish) . I went with the warm feel to match more of a Street Light feeling. Hince the street lights in the upper left of the image

Final Entry

This is abstract as I can get using every loop hole I know. BTW, the pink swirls is a border.

Final Entry

Now if the car was pink 💡

Good shots, guys! 👍

I took several shots and finally picked this one. My 700HP AWD Skyline.

Final Entry

You just have to resize the full-size shot; 400 pixels on the longest side. Then upload it and then link it like this:

[*URL=URL of the full-size shot]
[*/URL]

Delete the asterisks, I had to put them in, in order you can see what I mean.

Final Entry

Out of everyone so far, I think GrumpEone has gotten in the most right. A very nice job. Great compostion and colour choice too.

Thanks,
Abstract is a tough theme to shoot for with the limited editing allowed.

Final Entry

Attempt.

You're welcome. And I'm aware that I made it extra-tough - I considered changing it to 2.0, but I decided in the end to make it a bit challenging.

Final Entry

Attempt.

Ghost Spyker?

More than just an attempt, a solid competitive entry. ^^
