Well, I'm watching now Initial D, and in the firsts chapters the talk about the Drift King, Keiichi Tsuchiya.
Some time ago I downloaded a video with this man drifting (awesome drifts) and explaining different ways to drift.
My question is how has this man became in the Drift King.
I mean what things has he done, where has he raced, which competitions has he won, etc.........
Thanks in advance.

"Enter the Drift King. Drifting a car through a corner is not the fastest way around most turns any racecar driver will tell you strait out. This is where Keiichi Tsuchiya was crowned the Dori Kin or Drift King. In Option drift contests; style and technique are evaluated for exhibition values. Lately contests have been judged on racing lines and setup for multiple corner drifting, this is more difficult. Back in 1977 Keiichi began his racing career driving many different cars in amateur racing series events. Racing these underpowered cars was difficult but again a great learning experience. Later Keiichi was picked up to drive the ADVAN sponsored AE86/1984 Corolla GT-S. During many races on a downhill corner he would drift the car and carry a better corner speed than his competitors. This technique is what made him the Drift King not as most believe that he was first in the drift scene"

He learn to drift in touge (mountain pass road), he drift not because faster way around corner but because it is the most exciting way.

here some driving history of him :

I got his story, forgot from where i get that though, but thats a part of the story. i hope that help you sharon.

 I'm with you^ there. I'm also anti-1/4 mile race (in some way). And as for the drift king being Bunta's friend, we could also guess that he, Bunta, got the TRD engine from the drift king himself.

All I got to say is I'll be back on the Autocross courses soon enough....All I need is to drop the new engine in..And I'll have a new car to rip up the streetz!..Oh yeah

Why is he the drift king? He's the best. Everyone knows he's the best. No one opposes him because he is god. If he competes there is no contest. If he so chose, he could drift a school bus and win D1 without even thinking. He's that damn good.
I recall reading in an article about how rediculously good the Signal Drivers (Drifter X and Chunky Bai) are compared to everyone else at Drift Showoff in Irwindale. Then I thought to myself how much better Keiichi is then they are. It's amazing how much skill he has. He is the one and only Dorikin, and he will always be the Dorikin.

BTW... When he raced in NASCAR, he won the race by drifting:D
Racing teams spends tons and tons of cash making the cars go fast and straight and he puts them to shame by winnng while sideways:eek: :D
