Drift on stock LSD?

On the Skylines it seems like the car has less understeer with a stock LSD. Is it better to drift with the stock LSD? I have all full customized LSD on all my cars, but some of them still has a bit of understeer, Im going to try it on some cars tonight. Any comments/experience with this? Thanks.
 
Ive seen some AWD setups that way in the settings depot, both stock and full customize probably have their advantages and disadvantages. I had some consistent understeer problems with an SC300, maybe ill try a stock LSD 👍
 
Seems to me like it depends on the car, I recently tested out the following cars in stock form:

-Pontiac GTO (Fine w/stock)
-New Mustang (Needs improvement)
-Lotus Carlton (Fine w/stock)

My conclusion is that it depends on the ammount of power and the suspension. Also, I hardly ever use full customize and instead, I tune lockup with power and suspension.
 
i have a bad habit of going out and buying "all the cool parts" before bench testing a car :D makes me wonder if alot of my drift cars could be alot better....
 
As a general rule of thumb, if I want to tune a car for drift, I start stock and add a clutch and stage 1 lightening at the most. After that I'll usually add full suspension and play with that for a while and finally start adding power/drivetrain/brakes as needed. I've noticed that a lot of people over tune their cars for drifting.. I don't think any car needs a full tune to be a good drifter.
 
i set up most of my higher tuned cars for higher speed drifting, although i did just recently discover the wonders of N1 tires and minimal power upgrades. :D

Great point. Some cars can drift just fine stock or with a bit more power.

I do find that having the upgraded brakes is always a good thing.
 
Thanks. You can also use that guideline to find out which cars are fun to drift, which ones are difficult and which ones are plain boring/easy.

One example is the Cappocuino
 
I use an Evo VI for drifting, and it has stock LSD (since you can't have a customizable LSD and AYC, I go with the AYC). It's super easy to start it drifting.
