What types of limitations would you like to see in the Drift Photo Competition

  • Pre-90's cars only or something similar.

This is just a test so i can figure out how this polling system works. A new contest will be started soon. In the meantime, please cast your vote or make suggestions for limitations on the photo comp.

***ok it appears you cannot edit the poll options once it has been posted. you can see i accidendally screwed up the URL tag on the imageshack image so you cant go to the fullsize screen by clicking on it. I should have previewed the post....also this is a poll where you can choose more than 1 choice, and i should clarify the location choice, meaning the car has to be from that location, not the photo.

ALSO, expect imageshack to be the required photo hosting service, as it is SOOOO much easier to browse through a list of thumbnails instead of a list of images larger than your monitor resolution. I think we can all agree on that. ok well PLEASE GIVE ME YOUR SUGGESTIONS on comp. limitations. and we will get it started tonight or tomorrow.
 
I looked at the main forum page to find a testing forum, i must have missed it. I checked again just now, still dont see it.....

I figured it would be OK to post here since it still is a relevant topic for the drift forum.

Yeah, I haven't seen it for a while. Would be helpful right now though. Oh well :dopey:
 
I think that there should be one track specified and one era of cars specified. 80's, 90's etc. Or all american, Japanese, European, etc. That way it could stay fresh but still give people room to use different cars.
 
I definately agree with limiting it to one track, Im thinking Trial Mountain this week.....i know thats a favorite of many and a good track for drifting as well.

d3p0, my thoughts exactly, just use a set of limitations from the races in the game, or think up something similar. one thing i thought would make a cool restriction would be to use "race" cars only, like with all the race decals and graphics. we would probably get alot of the D1 cars in the pics but I for one would go out of my way to try a different car, im sure others would too. We will probably do something simple with the car limitations this week though.
 
Yeah, the D1 cars aren't especially attractive. I mean, Nomuken's car looks like a street sweeper. They are cool because they represent D1 but I haven't noticed anything special about them so far though they should at least have increased steering angle. Anyway.. What's the crieteria for judging?
 
its going to be setup like the poll above, so it will be a viewers choice kind of thing, except you can only choose 1.

Since this is a photo competition, more emphasis will be placed on the quality of the photo, than of the drift, since the photo cant really prove if you are drifting or sliding out of control. however, the car must appear to be drifting, and obviously the photo must meet the requirements laid out at the beginning of the comp. Any photos that dont meet the rules will be disregarded.

The judging of drift quality is better left to videos.

also, another question for the masses......
Should there be a limit on the # of entries each week?
