excuse my ignorance if this has been posted before, but its been aaages (like GT4 release time) since i last logged in lol

Started doing some seasonal events yesterday... amassed just over 2.5mil credits in the process :D

I haven't started any of drift trials yet, but wanted to know if there were any tips etc that i need to know before starting?

try with a v8 first they seem to easier to control and their throttle is more instant, try and get the bumper over the inside of the corner, try in different gears until you find the right gear for that corner, try all the comfort tyres to find which suit the car best. handbrake (e-brake) before the corner can help sometimes.

practise practise practise.

All I have to suggest is using a lower powered car and comfort hard tyres. I personally use a stock Toyota 430SCV with 280bhp, and it drifts 1000 times better than the Speed 12 and other ridiculous cars people recommend :D I generally stick below 300bhp and make sure to use manual

I used the AEM Sema S2000 ABS OFF, toe 4.0/4.2 and Im a totally drifting noob, but I found this fairly easy only got silver yet tho. However I think the toe settings are important as I couldnt hold a drift without them. 👍

I drift with the 370Z (or with the 370Z tuned Academy Car) and it´s a very good choice for me.
Fully tuned but it´s very manageable.
Try to stick to the inside with a good driftangle to get the max points.
I stick in 3rd gear and can Hammer the Throttle down all corner long (DS3).

Plus try to tune your Car more Oversteery. (softer front springs then rear and low LSD settings which provides a looser rear end)
I´m not a drift or tuning guru but It works for me. Normally I´m 1-2k pointz over gold.

A difference lays in those Dirt-Drift-Trails. There you have to use an other strategy (atleast I have to).
Slow in and fast out with a slight driftangle. That gave me massive pointz because the drift pointz stopped when I released the Throttle.

PS just try and drift that was my way of learning :D The Toyota FT-86 is a good learning car (For me it was)

Try to use a real/official drift car, like the Mazda BP FALKEN RX-7 (D1GP) '03, cars like these make the things more easy.

👍

I always use my standard viper '99. Just comfort softs and it is very easy to get the golds with ds3 and minimal effort.

thanks for the info folks! will give it a go when im off work ;)

ps... if anyone wants to add me feel free (i've not played online yet, as my frineds no longer play gt5)
