Drift Trial glitch - the trial "breaks" but I can still drive

So whenever I do either of the current drift trials, when I get to my 3rd or 4th attempt, the points stop appearing when I drive through the flags - it's like they're not even there. At this point, when I pause the game it stops, but no menu comes up for me to exit. I can still drive the car, but it won't reverse. When I reach the end of the trial nothing happens. The car will just sit there, and I still can't exit.

I know that all sounds very specific, but that's exactly what's happened to me five times now! (Different cars each time, too) I really want to compete on the trials but every time this occurs I have to quit the game completely and start it back up.

I didn't find anything when I did a search on the forums. Anybody else having some issues like this? Please let me know if you have any suggestions!

(I have cleared the network cache, can't think of anything else to try)

I haven't seen the issues you are talking about, but I had issues with the game freezing or just not going forward like it should after and before races both online and offline recently. The only fix I could think of is to uninstall the gt5 game data (not saves, just game install data) and then reinstall them, and now everything works fine and seems to be running faster than beore. I installed the game in December but it seemed to get slower with time until I did this and now everything seems fine and no more freezing.

Did you have to re-download all the updates again?
