Drift with DFP in GT3

Hello there.

I purchased a DFP wheel yesterday to get used to it before GT4 is released.. yes i'm in AUS so I wont be getting it until 10th March..
(a bit off topic here... if anyone in AUS is lookin at getting the DFP.. you get $100 off if u pre-order GT4 at EB Games)

anyway back to my post..

After buying the wheel and hooking it up yesterday I had a quick run in GT4 Prologue and felt very nice, after a little while I thought i'd give GT3 a go with it. Here is where I have run into a problem, Previously with the DS2 controller I was easily able to counter my rear wheels sliding out when doing power oversteer drift.. With the DFP I'm finding it near impossible to catch the car.. almost as if i'm not counter-steering at all. The car would always end up doing a 180degree spin. I spent a good 1hrs on the complex string in an old RX7 which I used to easily drift with a controller, but looking like a complete idiot with the wheel. I'm finding this very frustrating. Has anyone that made the switch from DS2 Controller to DFP Wheel experienced this? any advice or tips?

I didnt try the DFP yet so i dont know how it respond, but i think i know why. It can be caused with the 900° mode of the wheel.
 
Sorry, something else i should have mentioned. The wheel is set to 200degree lock. Tried playing with 900degree and it's virtually impossible in GT3.
 
make sure yout steering assist is on pro and not sim or anything else. that gives the most countersteer.
 
O.K I'll turn it to pro because I found the exactly same problem with counter steer. But it's too late now because I only borrowed it!

That did the trick, I had steer assist on Simulation.
Changed to PRO and i'm drifting fine.

no problem. it was the same way with me, had it on sim and i kept oversteering, so someone suggested that i put it on pro and it worked.
 
hahaha i was like that too n i think it was u suzuki that gave me that helpful hint. its annoying when its on sim. u skid right, then u countersteer all u can, n u look at the wheel in the replay n its just like turned the tiniest bit.

Hehe, not really useable advice or something, cause I DON'T drink when drifting but well............for the ones that do and don't know why they make mistakes.....💡
 
Quick question: How much more realistic is simulation mode from pro mode?
