drifting contest

hey guys i was thinking of a way we could possibly have a drift tournament.Then it hit me. if we pick a track but let people use whatever cars they want and evrery 1 drifts 1 lap and makes a video of the lap once all the entrys have been accounted for we could put them in groups randomly and have heats so the videos that are chosen go head to head. Then we assign points by drift time eg from the moment the back starts to slip we time the drift and allocate 1 point per second of drift until the car regrips do this each drift in the race and at the the end of the lap acumulate all drift points and who ever has the most drift points wins the heat and goes through to the next the stage.until we have a final and the winner can crowned gtp drift champion.
This is just an idea guys the only thing i could think of. If u think its a good idea reply and let me no. Hopefully this might be doable cos i realy wanna have a competition as we cant play online. Any ways post yout replys and let ppl no.

there's about 2 a day

there are almost 40 people there that have released videos so far, and I know of at least a dozen more members with cards that frequent the forums but have not yet released any vids. This is more than enough to feed the needs of the GTPDC.

lol, NK4E alone could probably keep the thing swamped with challenges for a full calendar year.

this will be detailed later. No official arrangements for the first GTPDC have been made as of yet, aside from choosing judges.

for now, the only video competition going is Der Alta's

knock yourself out with that one if you're looking for some way to showcase your skill. You still have over 2 weeks to get and entry in.

just hold tight and wait for everything to get set up in the GTPDC. Dont quote me on this, but things should get livelier in a month or so, after DA's competition has finished. A registration or contest entry thread will likely appear when we are ready to get things going.

and, i have a ati tv-wonder-pro to do my captures. But the quality comes from the compression method, not the card.
