seriously ive been practicing.....feathering the accelerator and not counter steering throughout the drift.
but then my car understeers, and even if i do manage to drift properly, its all luck......

would switching to a wheel help ??? because i cant seem to have the throttle perfectly balanced so that my car stays

a wheel helped me alot (took about 2 days to get used to because i can't drive but i got used to it real quick)
wheel is definitely better but you can also keep practicing
everyone goes through that atleast i did. :)

i use a PS1 controller and still have a good amount of control compared to most wheel users, but a wheel is better in the long run.

what kind of car are you trying to drift and whats the setup?

well i get the same results on any car....
i always get to the point where just a little bit more throttle will make the car spin out of control or tapping the button will make it
stop drifting....

most of the time my drifts end halfway through the curves

Tell us your exact setup... tires... hp... nad suspension settings. That would make things a bit clearer... It sounds like you are on the right track... you just have to tweak a bit and get more comfortable sliding

Bengee...

I dont really get all that spring rate....camber that kinda stuff so what i do is put sim tires on stock a rx-7 fd and turn off asm and tcs. Thats it.

And when i turn off tcs, it makes my car bounce at the rev limiter on first gear for like 10 seconds.....

... yeah... that is what happens lol... dont pound on the gas off the line...

This is what i would suggest for fr or mr vehicles

-Leave the suspension spring rates alone... or if you must fool around leave them proportiona.
-lower the car halfway to the ground
-shocks to 6 for light cars to 7 for most cars (rebound and bound)
-chamer larger in front than rear never more than 3 (i use 1 and .5 usually)
-toe can be set to 0 for fr and mr withour consequence
for lighter cars i use sways at 2 for most cars i use 3's

Chamber setting are what will give you oversteer... the bigger the difference the more oversteer you will have...

-brakes i set to even values back nad front so i can brake from high speeds to low speed corners at hte 50 m mark lol

sims

asm 0
tcs anywhere between 0 and 3 depending on the power i have in my car

with sims i never exceed more than 350
with super slicks i drift all hp

For 4wd cars the only change i make most of hte time is i lighten stage 1 or 2 for lighter cars and all the way for heavy cars like the skyline or vr4... and i have a toe setting of -.5 for front and between -1 and -2 for rear... this gives added understeer and counteracts 4wd natural ability to understeer charply after oversteer... also you need not countersteer as much with 4wd...

it sounds to me that your gears might be a bit wide... make sure that you have a close enough ratio so that when you shift in mid corner if needed you will still be in the higher revs...

if you think you will spin out if you just feather the gas once more but you are loosing speed and therefore the drift feather the gas and countersteer in mr/fr cars...

no need for weight reduction unless the car is really heavy... i like my cars around 1000-1200 kg or lower...

turbo/na/supercharged are all fine as gt3 has no turbo lag...

lsd is a dangerous thing to fool around with... and is more for grip racing than drifting anyways...
hope this helps

you slick drift right sheron... so do i... i got tired of sims a while back... still do it but i find slicks more satisfying... and its good practice for 4 wheel drift on softs...

check out some of sherons settings... i have heard they are good for beginners... try both of ours...

Lately i have been geting cars set up on slicks... then running them on softs and trying to get faster and faster with 4 wheel drifting... no smoke... little or no noise... slip angle noticeable but not large... little or no countersteering...

really . i suggest u choose evo it doesnt matter which one ...
than use yaw ...wowww really drift even like i vids dragondrift ...:D good same like jun evo drift ...:D

Yeah, I've been practicing with the Trueno SS, the suspension is for grip but the LSD is more for drift, and the result is a slighty fast car but very funny.

Funny for me is drifting in Trial Mountain at 5-10mm of the walls without crashing. I thing my setting is like Takumi's car ;)

i send already but i forget the sector time but i get 1.05.xxxwith imprezzaLM 900++ HP .......with SHERON setting ...:D
thanks sheron ...

ya feel free... we are going to race with evo4... subbie version 6.... and celica gt4 next on three different courses... just visit the site every once in a hwile nad keep updated...

which ever you choose... just run on the tires we specify and try to get hte fastest time you can... then tell us the sector info i asked for and whether you used grip d1 or d2 in that sector...

well as long as you run with the ar specified... in the one that is going on right now we are running a elise 190 on super softs... no limit on mods... grip, d1 and d2 are explained in my first post
