i have just gotten into the drifting aspect of this game and damn its all show!

i hate how its SOOO slow but with sim times on....the smoke kickin out the back....burnouts through 5th gear. its CRAZY!!

now onto what my motive is for posting....

am i supposed to be hittin all the way down to 45 mph when i enter the series of hairpins on complex string when im in this damn car? i feel like i can go faster but ****...the throttle is so god damn sensitive on this frackin dual shock 2.

i cant wait to get my GT force in the mail....i hear nothing but GREAT things about that wheel.

another thing....how am i supposed to set this wheel pedal combo up? how sturdy are the pedals when put on the floor?

i also play counter strike at this lan place and they have two custom made chairs with two GT force wheel and pedal combos hooked up to two ps2's that are i.LINKed side by side with copycat racing seats (designed to look but not to feel) to sit in and two 50 inch sony wega TVs!!!! i didnt get a chance to play it but im going to next time i go.

Is your car tuned to the max with the highest turbocharger?
If it is drop the turbo and buy the stage 1 or 2 NA tune the engine response will be better. Also are you using both the analog sticks (one to steer and the other to accelerate and brake) that will give you better response on the thottle. You need to be quite gentle with the throttle and be able to maintain a good amount of revs to get a good fast drift. oh yeah do a search on drifting there is a good guide somwhere around.

it's just too hard to drift at max power with simulation tires.. therefore i gave up.. i use either normal or sports.. it still drifts fine if you drift right... i.e.: weight transfer =)... and the car is a lot more controlable too...

just my $0.02

really? i found it pretty easy to drift in sim tires. but only after i adjusted the torque transfer. helps alot.

how do u adjust torque transfer?

for some reason... the car tends to spin rather than drift with sim tires... so.. that's why i used normal/sports...

i have learned since then to drift with the ae86 while it has sim tires on.

the trick is throttle modulation. be wary of the fact that it will take a LOT of practice to do so but you will be able to get the craziest drifts on sim tires. more smoke to kick out the back and the drifts last the longest.

i just recently got my gt force wheel and have yet to drift with it...anybody that has tips on how to drift with that thing....please post your tips.

I'm tring to learn to drift...i got the RX-7 infini 111 (FC) ...sim tyres and stage 1 turbo.....(all drivetrain parts as well...etc) but all it does is spin bout 1/4 the way into the turn.

well...i have been drifting for a while now and i think i got this **** down perfect. well...maybe not perfect but with a mustang cobra R equiped with sim tires i have been able to drift the largest corner on complex string ENTIRELY without regaining traction! it was awesome. i cant do it regularly but thats the way its done. in order to get the best drifts you NEED sim tires. if you have trouble....have patience. you cant just jam on the gas and toss the analog stick the other way and expect to get **** right...there is a FINE balance that needs to be acheived. just keep at it. success is just around the corner.

If you're spinning out... you should try Cudaman's settings first of all. I've had that problem as well, but it goes for all cars you try to drift with. Only use stage 1 weight reduction, and just experiment on the throttle, countersteer and braking you put into the drift. It took me a while, but its worth it. There isn't really a way you can say in words the specifications of drifting. It is just personal feel and bla bla bla.... I'd try Trial Mountain for beginners.

My trick for drifting is useing a manual trans and a power cheat to give the car that im using about 1000hp and that way it always stays revin high and it makes it alot easier to drift for me that away

Can somebody tell me what is up with the LSD settings? I always set mine to 10 all the way around. What will I get if i set them up higher at around 40 - 50?
