Drifting physics/feel?

I haven't played gt5p for about 2 weeks+ since i sent my G25 back to logitech for replacement. So i just got it back today and i hooked it up and away i went with drifting. I haven't downloaded any updated etc, but it just feels different? Wasn't there a spec 3 update recently? I started out with the tunned cappuccino on Eiger and it seemed the grip of tires has changed.

The first big difference i noticed was that the long right hander/sweeper i was EASILY able to keep sliding in 3rd with a nice amount of wheel spin. Usually i had trouble with that long turn. So i did a few laps with that. Then i switched to the blitz r34 and also noticed a big difference in how the car handled and the grip level.

Now my BIGGEST suprise was when i went to Suzuka east (short) with the blitz r34. I didn't nail the first 2 main turns that you can connect. But all the way from the beginning of the S-turns to the Finish i was EASILY able to control the car sideways, pretty clean run and finish to the end (drift trial). So is it just me or has anyone else noticed a difference in the drift feel/physics and the tire grip? :dunce:....anyways very glad to be back. :)👍

[edit]-Just did some reading and looks like there hasn't been any updates/changes. Guess it was just my absence from the game that i was feeling. But i could swear the tires feeling different. ohh well.

I had the same problem and feeling with you. My previous G25 also had broken but got it replaced now. Apart from the update (which gives slightly more grip), it is the new G25 that makes it sharper and smoother.

The new G25 does has less resistance than the older ones. Perhaps they might have updated the software or have different motors in it. While waiting for the replacement, I bought fanatec 911 T wheel and suddenly I realised that G25 does actually helps a lot to drift smoothly. It has less resistance than any other steering (except frex I presume), which gives a good oppurtunity to recover any snap very quickly. Consequently you will have a cleaner drift exit.

Now I am wondering whether Spec 3 has anything to do to our damaged G25?? I have heard a lot of faulty G25 after the spec 3 update..hmmm....:odd:

Im slowly getting used to these new physics (PAD)

I can easily drift T1 without a problem. Tried with R1's too lol

Looks like the wheel has its problems while the pad has its own too.

well i first got my wheel about 1-2 months before the spec3 update, and i started getting a clicking from the motor when i would fight/turn INTO/AGAINST the force feedback. it got annoying quickly so i had it replaced. The new one works well, and depending on the settings it feels good(i have FFB 5 no power-assit, and simulation). I can only compare it to my first wheel which was the First version of the DFP, which came out when GT4 was released, i definatley enjoy the G25 much more. Hopefully this one lasts. I thought maybe it was the game making it click, but i was also drifting in Live for Speed and it did the same. Being so new it shouldn't have. Hopefully this one is good and will last :)👍

It's a great product i think i was just unlucky in getting a defective one.

u know i have started hearing this noise when turning the wheel against the force feedback.

ive only had the wheel about a month :grumpy: might send it back

I had my wheel about 1-2 months when the clicking started...it wasn't Too bad at first, and got more noticeable and worse as a few days went by. When i was shopping for a wheel, The g25 was on back order for a month or 2, i don't know if they rushed production or quality control, but DEFINATELY give them a call. I started my claim on the website, and didn't get a reply for a few days, called them up and they gave me instructions to mail in the SHIFTER, thats all they asked for, and they sent me a WHOLE new box/wheel. So now i have 2 wheels, 2 sets of pedals and 1 shifter. I might try looking into modifying the wheel as one of the Japanese guys did. He changed the Gear out etc and did some things. I'm going to have to use a translator to read his page. But IMO for almost 300.00 (got mine on sale for 280.00usd free shipping) It should NOT click. You could hear it, but more annoying and noticeable you could FEEL it. Definately get in contact with them. Turn-around time was pretty quick 1-1/2-2 weeks. :):tup:You just have to pay to ship the shifter back to them.
