Drifting Troubles, any help?

Hi guys, I'm new here and just started trying to drift about a week ago. I've got the hang of getting the drift started, but in most turns i can keep it. Take for instance the turn before the long straight-away at Apricot Hill. What happens is that it seems like my tires just hook up, and the car wants to travel nose first into the wall. I've tried this with a modified Mazda RX-7 Infini-whatever it is, and the 22B Impreza with stock suspension. The Soob isn't as bad, but it still happens, can anyone help me?
 
well first of all, you need everything from suspension to horespower all modified completely, you need to go fast to make a long drift or slow for a short turn, plus depends on ur tire, i use super soft, but try it if it works, if not then someone else can help, im not a big helper because i cant explain things right so good luck!!!!!!!!
 
That's untrue Night_Drifter. I drift my Evo VII GSR with just super slicks, stage 3 turbo, VCD to 10, and racing transmission. Everything else is stock.
As for some advice to the long turns, you want to make sure you make the angle throughout the turn, not before. Aim for the apex of a huge turn from the middle part of the lane. Then let your back slide out as you're taking the first half of the turn. Then keep your acceleration open (not fully pressed down) as you're drifting. You'll get the hang of it.
 
if your tires are gripping too much, downgrade them. i prefer sim tires..as do many other drifters...
 
thanks guys, I appreciate all the help. I don't think I've got as much help this quick on any message board i've ever been to! Both the cars are on sim tires, I tried the super slicks, but didn't like them as much. Vinkento, good advice, I was trying to hit the drift before the turn instead of through it.

one word to all the new drifters. if your not sure on waht tires to use. the answer is ^^^ SIM tires. you drift longer and you get WAY more smoke IMHO:D :D
