No matter what setting I use for my Trueno S.S. when drifting my car always spinsout  Ive tried every set up I can find and still the samething. Do I have an inability to drift or what? It only has 265 and sim tires so any help would be appreciated.

Well, exhibition drifting is a delicate balancing act. Are you using the analog stick for throttle control?

Other things to try: lighten up on the rear swaybar a little; lighten up on the rear shock bound/rebound a little; or stiffen the fronts.

If the car is oversteering totally, you need to let it keep a little weight to the rear. That's why you'd soften the rear suspension relative to the front.

No Im not using the analog stick for throttle, Im not really sure how do go about softing the near just lower the swaybar, rear shock, bound and rebound? I tried the Trueno on Trial mountian and I seem to do fairly well...maybe I should just stick to Trial Mountain Thanks

Yes, lower the rear swaybar, lower the rear shock rebound a little. Also, keep the rear ride height a little higher than the front.

The buttons are kind of hard to modulate smoothly; it may help you to learn using the analog stick for steering and throttle/brakes.

r u just flooring it or r u tapping the X button? tapping is the way to go....at least for me

and make sure u countersteer enough or try doing it alittle earlier than usual

It'z said that drifting with truenos r harder than usual cars cuz of where most of the weight is (i think)

really? i have my trueno's tuned so they can drift long distances!! such as super speedway, that turn on apricot hill, and that long turn at grand valley.

the reason you're spinning out its because u're giving it too much gas. Since the 86 is a FR the direct drive is on the back wheels , if u give to much gas, the more the wheels will spin and thus u spinning out..

I totally agree. The S.S is a b!tch to drift... it's either black(spin) or white(nothing) with no grey(drift) area. Probably a lot easier with a wheel and pedals.

AE86's become fairly easy to drift once you get used to them, though admitadly they are hard to begin with.

Because they have a low ps output standard it helps to upgrade this.I have 2 AE86's(one turbo/one NA) both tuned for max power achievable from there type of aspiration. They are as a result easier to drift.I then modded the suspention, gearbox, lightened it ect. and it is now a very drift friendly car.Even easier when in the wet.

The bottem line is however that it just takes a lot of practice!:)

If you have a game shark turn the horse power up to 1800 or so and put the soft tires on it, then set the rear of the car up more than the front, it should dift easily, oh ya turn the asm up 7 and the gear ratio up to the longest like 41 or so.

if i shoot a bb gun a mile away from a thruway will i hit a orange mcflaren, probrobly not, but i'd shoot anyways, no not really but seriously your at a major disavantage, as a matter of fact when i play against my 6 year old cousin thats one of the limitations i put on myself so i dont kick his azz go buy a controller, there what 10 bucks?

me too i have problem to drift with ae86 but i can drift with cars easily( silvia,s2000,mazda fc ) and i use the gt force wheel really helps because before when i was trying to drift with ds2 i was always spining but then i decided to get a wheel to drift and the day i got it i was drifting wayyyyyyy better

i find it easier to drift with ss. 86 when u install turbo kit... natural aspiration juss duznt give enuff hp.. although it is quite mad havin a redline of 11,000 rpm..

i like drifting on apricot hill... the first turn is mad..
i went in with a 200sx.. s14 .. red, white wheels.. ( kenta wanabe..) and drifted a perfect piuyi.. ( drift ) at 260km .. back wheel on rear apex.. 60 degress sideways.. ..

with a hachiroku.. i entered turn at 240km.. ( hp diff ) and drifted the whole turn as i did with the 200... it was sassy..
i used the faint tap on the brakes to induce rear traction loss which resulted in the car going sideways through the turn..

to do this u need to set ur car to drift settings.. ie change ur sr, sb, rh , etc.. for me the most important parts were ride height , asm(0) tcs(1).. , and brake balance.. ( 4 F , 22 R )

the higher brake balance at rear caused the car to slide easily into turn wen i pressd the brakes.. asm at 0 made the car slide more easier.. and tcs at 1 makes the car drivable.. ( 0 results in crap acceleration.. unless u ease on the accelerator )

for most other turns however.. i used power oversteer to drift.. as the hachiroku's 380 bhp is more than enuff to induce 'powerova'.. this is for short sharp turns..

another car which is a fav for drifting is the WRX.. although i havent mastered faint brake drifting.. i use the e-brake drift.. X(
it easily drifts though.. but i feel dat im cheating usin the e-brake.. its juss too.. newbish..

but for the hachiroku its all.. 'tap brake.. turn.. tap accelerator ( if need be ) , counter steer ( also if needed.. ).. accelerate out of turn.. '

then juss sit back and watch ur mad replay...

- barn driving hachiroku.. =)
- rephrase..
- barn drifting hachiroku.. =D

Lol..half the time for drifting..I don't even need to use the accelerator...Unless it's a longer corner.....
!!!INERTIA IS YOUR FRIEND!!!

lol change the brake balance to the rear is for me the same as e-brake

and why newbish? much pro drifters use the ebrake, k not realy to initiate the drift, but why it isnt newbish for u to set the brake balance to the rear?

Not many pro's RELY on the ebrake through..They do it for exibition purposes..Because they can't go through clutches like they can go through tires

does evreyone notice? all the new people come here? and waht do they post here? trueno ss. noob posted. truenos.s posted. even i posted it. and a few other people posted it. getting annoying IMHO:irked:
