hey i'm new to GTP, i just was browsing around for tuning tips on the net and i fell upon this. I looked around and was amazed at what the site had so i signed up :)

Anyways what i really wanna question is the drifiting videos. Are thoes really people that played like that and made videos? Cause thats amazing, i never seen anything like that. I mean i tried it my self and only got the back moving and just screw up the rest of the drifit. The video i saw was the "AE86Driver's GT3 tribute", the video just left me with my jaw hanging. lol

yea so post ur opninons and stuff

great to be here :)

I felt the same way the first time i saw gran dorifto, i used to watch the video like 2wice a day, lol… that's what really got me into drifting and inspired me to make my own.

I mean i always tried drifiting in GT3 but i rarely came out sucessfuly. I usally drifted with the 240SX or AE86, but i never came out drifitng like in that one video. I had to check twice when i watched it, cause it looked so damm real.

Yeah I really felt the exact same way I couldn't believe that it was possible to move the cars in that way, none of my drifts looked anything like that. They do now though

There is a whole forum dedicated to drifters here. It should say "drifters only" there is a lot of good stuff in there about drifting. This thread will be moved there soon im sure. Don't believe every thing you read though a lot of people don't know what they are talking about or just think its gold cus it works for them. Everyone drifts their own way, but ASM and TCS should be set to zero or very low and the softer the tiers the more hp you need. If you have time dl "gran dorifto 2" it's also in the video section here... A lot of the scenes in the drifting tribute are taken from that movie.

yu can adjust thoe to yur own pleasure, but it's normal for people to lower the ride height and adjust the gear ratios. btw, welcome to GTP :)

you can find gran dorifto on kazaa, maybe not at this time though, it being 3:30 am eastern.

and gran dorifto 2 is in the video section on this site

Drifting videos can be easily created with the right amount of talent and knowledge about computers and cars. The Gran Dorifto series has been expertly produced and deserves all viewers applause. In order to recreate such a video, you must first drop all the stats in TCS and the other one right below it in the settings menu, I think it is ATS, but not sure, its been a while since I played, both of them to zero. This will help you lose traction around corners to produce a drift. Now, when drifting, there are several problems that arise. Oversteer is common amongst FR cars with high HP. This is where the car starts to turn but never really straightens out, and ends up doing a full 360. Understeer, very common in MR and FR cars, is where the vehicle pushes itself to far out in the turn, causing you to fly into the outer wall or just get dirty in the sand. To counteract Oversteer, I recommend reducing the wheel speed of the vehicle and increasing the traction with some better tires and suspension upgrades, as well as getting the car to say more level on the road with stabilizers. To counteract Understeer, I recommend using a less grippy tire in the rear of the vehicle and increasing the wheel speed for a MR car and keeping it close to stock on a FR. IF you plan on drifting a FR car, make sure you get the best tires up front to help control where the car is going at all times. (Basically, the front wheels control all on a FR car) Then just put some crappy tires on the rear and e-brake the drifts at a speed where controllability isnt too bad for your driving style. FR cars make great practice cars for getting into drifting, but I find that MR cars like the MR2 have the best handling overall. I run mine with pretty stiff susp. settings and Medium tires in the rear. With a HP around 400 it does quite well in drift formation.

Hope this info. helps you in your rise to Drifting Fame :)
Good Luck! & Have Fun!
Cause thats what its all about!

Im been playing GT3 for some weeks now, and i have a Supra full equip.

I think its a very good car for drifts, doen anyone like it ?

Agreed. I started with the 86 cuz I'm an Initial D fan and it just happened to be cheap enough to buy as a first car. w00t! I think I won the FC in a race...otherwise I woulda bought it in white...and I drift pretty well in it. I keep the TCS on 1 or 2 though (2 if I have it with gobs of HP), helps me from spinning the car around.
