Yeah what you do in GT3?
Sure drifting is more fun , but do you do it on important races?
At first i was like WTF , it can't be any faster then grip driving , but with WEEKS of training and trying to set up cars for drifting i now set records of tracks with drifting , and they are really good compared to the records i see on websites/in magazines etc.
Of course drifitng on every corner doesn't make sense , some are just so fast that you go throught them without letting your foot of the accelerator , but on hairpins etc. i'll drift!!!

Driftin Fool!

What's your favourite corner to drift on? I love that wide corner on trial mountain , after the long straight through the tunnel , also the wide corner in seattle after the "downhill" straight when i just drift and let the car slide until the chicane and then i just lose the traction in the other way and go through the remaining two corners... The first corner on Trial mountain is also good , the corner after the long straight in tokyo (not the main straight)... Basically all the sharp corners after long straights when you have lots of speed and you have to lose it and go throught the corner...
What's your opinion?

I prefer using a F1 style of racing to drifting, brake in a straight line, feather the throttle round the corner and accelerate hard at the end of it.Everytime i try drifting (cept in the Rally League) i end up going arse 1st round the corner, hence my name. :D

IT requires a bit practice like i told you ... but it's worth

Yeah, I agree with you para22, the right amount of grip and drift, depending on the car and corner, can be a real asset! It's all about getting the most out of your rpms/power and drifting used to perfection can be real fun! :D
Say, you should try out the online racing forums we have here - pretty damn fun and some of these guys will push your skills!

No offence thought , i'm rather a reader then poster... But i should welcome you... not the other way round... ;) ...
Btw about drifting , on the S license tests i obtained all golds with drifting expect for the miata which is just to much underpowered... So it can be fast not only fun...

I'm gonna welcome your damn ass whether you like it or not!!! :p :p j/k ;)

Grip on tarmac, drift on dirt. If you're drifting on a circuit then the power is not pushing the car forwards and is being wasted (plus killing your tyres), even on tight corners. You tend not see F1's, GT and Touring cars drifting in RL do you?

Having said that it is fun, but I always run slower with the drift setting.

:)

Yeah, that was pretty funny huh? I realized that just after posting... yeah, drifting can definitely be faster. Usually on the underpowered cars, though.
