Alright peeps. I've read a lot here about drifting, and I know exactly what it is etc, but what have you found is the best technique to drift? Handbrake, opposite turning before the corner, and also what car do you think is the best at drifting..

Also what % of the time are you able to control a cars drift so that you can accelerate relatively quickly through the corner afterwards as opposed to drifting into a wall, slamming to a stop and then speeding off again???

I'd be interested in your oppinion.. :dopey: :) 👍

edit: I wsa able to aster it in GT3 pretty well but have so far nt been able to perfect it in GT4... it bugs me!

1. Welcome to GTp.
2. There is a whole drift section -- look up when you're on the main GT4 forum page.
3. Most people (myself included) will tell you that the best car is the one that you feel the connection with and can control.
4. In the mentioned drift section, there is a settings depot -- look through there for settings on different cars.
5. If you get good enough, you'll be able to control the car most of the time.
6. Drifting will in 99 percent cases yield a slower time around a track... so don't even try to race drifting
7. the most frequently used technique is feint. example: coming up on a right turn, take the middle of the road, swing left than right into the turn. the weight shift should send you into oversteer, which u control through throttle control (key word). driving aids have to be off though.

Yeah, if you go to the Drift Forum, check out the Drift Settings Depot. It's a member made thread that has setups for plenty of different cars.

If you're interested, check out the settings for the '02 WRX STi, very fun car to drift.

I can drift the Spec C just using the brakes (not e brake)... on supersofts. great fun. :)

Just remember, left-right-left, or right-left-right, depending on what way the turns comin. If you don't know what i'm talkin about, than you should never speak of drifting again, and start walking the earth planting apple tree's like good ol' johnny apple seed. 👍

 Feinting isn't the only way to initiate a drift SRV2LOW4ME.

yep, there is power slides, clucth controls and many others. thanks to driftking Kenichi (never good with spell Japanese names :sly: )

yeah just check out the drift forum bro, everything you need is right in a neat little column.
also, feint drifts are easier to pull off when using a front-drive car(if by drift you mean throwing the back tires out) but yes, the many other ways to drift work better and personally they look better but usually only work with an FR car. AWD has a little bit harder time, so feint drifts also work for them too.

~happy posting

i reckon the best car 2 drift is the R34 Skyline
for an FR car probably a 200SX

I would reckon that looking in the FAQ on the right board would probably help a bit.
