Anyone using the Viper Concept to drifting?

My Viper has 936hp (don't remember exactly), and I drift this monster at Trial Mountain (my favorite track) with a lap time 1'25".579 (not perfect lap though). Just want to found out is that lap time OK or slow because I just started drifting for a week.

...again...drifting isn't about lap times. drifting isn't even about going fast. drifting is for show/exhibition. if you want lap times, use grip, if you want to have fun use drift. (why can't people understand this?? stupid takeshi nakazato..if he only won using grip, we wouldn't have these people thinking drift is faster  )

LanEvo, I know drifting isn't for laptime (I love drifting because it feels so great when you are in total control of the car). My friend and I try to compete who is drifting faster with the same car, and we will have a race coming up also (drifting race). The main reason I care about the lap time is to see how fast I can drift.

Think about it though, it was in the mountain passes :p

hehehe... think about it hard evo

lan evo it all depends on how you define the word drift and the word grip... and how you use drift and grip when you race... i am in no way saying that drift as you may see it is fast... exhibition drift is not for racing... however if you use drift as it was meant to be used... it is and always will be meant for racing...
at the heart of racing is the need to use the absolute limit of the car gripping capabilities.... and from this need came the least showy drift available... the one that arises from the slip condition present in the real world... fourwheel drift... real drift... once you go beyond 4wheel drift you are doing what is now considered drifting... and this drifting too has its use in races... lets you enter turns at higher speeds... and decreases braking distance needed... if you initiate drift earlier and end it at the apex of the turn you can acc out of most turns faster than other cars... this gives you fast entry speed and fast exit speed... and if the drift is not extending and slow you will have quicker cornering in sharp and short turns.... use your common sense when you drift... esp if you wanna go fast using it... you can always get faster... but the faster you get most likely the uglier your drift will seem to those used to watching exhibition....

btw i do both

I agree. I use a technique just like the one you are explaining. And my lap times have gone down. By the way, i believe i have a1.23 lap time at Trial Mountain.

well for me, i hit 1:23 using grip drifting, means drift a little only with 20% angle, its faster too, but it depends on the turn, because some turn needs drift and some turn needs grip, but grip is the fastest and i tend to use grip and mix it with drip to race with a fastest time!!!!

This has to be sticky to avoid stupid (nonsense) questions that are all over this forum.
