Drive X2010 but not F2007 in races - why not???

I have both cars and the F2007 is a lot more enjoyable - better views and the sound is great with an awesome mix of wind noise thrown in. Just wondering why we can't use that in A and B-Spec races, but you CAN use the X2010? It really doesn't make any sense.
 
I read somewhere around the forums that it may have to do with licensing regulations or whatever.
