Drivetrain benefits?

Okay I searched the threads and couldn't find anything about this. I'm sure its been covered somewhere and if so point me to the link. Meanwhile here's my question.
I understand the benefits of the LSD and the center differential for 4wd, what exactly are the benefits performance wise of the other components and is there any reason to use the cheaper flywheel and clutch plate when going for maximum performance?

I believe that the flywheel is supposed to improve acceleration and the clutch is supposed to improve shift speeds. The flywheel is also supposed to decrease deceleration. At least I think that is what I read in game.

Correct!

The engine feels more direct with a flywheel. It helps you especially in the corners.

Yes. The only cars where the clutch doesn't improve shift times are the handful of cars that have an automatic transmission that is accurately modeled.
