Driving Aids in GT mode

Hi all,

Having only just purchased the PAL version of GT4 (I played the Japanese version quite a bit first), I got stuck into Turismo mode.

However, the first thing I did was make sure that by default transmission would be set to manual and that all driving aids would be disabled.

Having played through the game for a short while, I suddenly realised that whilst changing the options for manual gears worked, removing driving aids appears not to.

In fact, exporing the setup of each of my car has uncovered a number of driving aids which are already active by default.

Does this mean that if I want to play the game without driving aids, I have to manually disable them from each and every car I buy?

And if so, why does every car appear to come with the driving aids enabled? I was checking out my Autobianchi Abarth (from some time in the 70's) and its got all the driving aids enabled.

I mean, I can understand the player purchasing upgrades in order to allow the use of driver aids on cars but to assume that every car comes equipped with driving aids seems stupid.

Am I on the right track here or have I completely misunderstood whats going on?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Yes, it does. For whatever reason - probably to make it easier for the 'casual racer' as decribed in the 'GT4 is too hard' thread - GT3 was the same way. You need to turn off driving aids for each and every car in your garage.
