Am I the only one here who finds the driving aids a bit of spoil to the game?
Sure they're handy enough whilst driving, let's say, any 600hp + car.
I think they make u a less competent driver.
In the godfather of GT games none of the cars had them and still they were fairly easy to keep on the road. Turn them off on, let's say, a beefed up '97 MR2 and all u do is hit walls and the likes ( but admittedly that car was always a tricky little *****). It seems it's harder to drive cars with no driving aids now then it was in GT1 & 2 which i believe didnt have any electronics to keep u from oversteering heavily when exiting low speed corners.
So what I do now is tune cars to my liking withouth driving aids, keep practicing and it's going pretty well again. The real problems occur though, when I start racing AI players:
I take my newly customised car with no electronics out to a family cup with a standing start ( Trial Mountain, Capitan ) to test it, and find myself standing on the grid burning rubber where my competetors are nearly through the first corner.
When I finally catch up with them, one hit of contact with the other cars ( yes AI cars bump into me as well ) and im off spinning again.
It's just too bad AI players keep their Driving Aids on when i have mine off. A definate Bummer!
Anyone feels the same?

I usually turn them off, but sometimes leave traction control on 1 just to avoid the wheel spin at the start like you mentioned.

yeah, I'll admit the cars bumping you is annoying, so I bump those bastards right back. I think the reason it's harder to keep your car on the road is because the physics engine is a lot more realistic. I'm a lot happier when I can learn to drive a car without as many driving aids. One trick is to hold the throttle analog stick all the way to the right when you use it. This way you can slide it along the right bound to gain more control of your throttle.

I've found that with higher horsepower cars, or cars that tend to spin ALOT, I like to leave traction control at 1 or 2. My mostly stock Supra is pretty easy to handle with no TCS, but once I start modding I'm sure it will be a different story.
