Mixed up Active Steering with Skid Recovery in the Title, sorry

==================================================

I'm working on getting gold in all the Vettel Challenges. After seeing the Vettel Tropy poll i tried to set skid AKTIVE STEERING to strong just for testing purposes.

With this setting i'm experiencing some very unusual behavior by my driving force gt wheel... When i pull a hard turn ( monza, first chicane ) the force feedback goes nuts. It "rumbles" in a way i have never felt it before. Its extremely loud "brrrrrrrrck" and the following no ffb resistance making me fear that i'll break the gears in the weel.
Sometimes the glitch happens kind of randomly when driving the X1 with AKTIVE STEERING too: indy, suzuka ... Completely random.

Are there some others who are noticing this too? May my wheel be broken? What could be causing this?

Well, i don't and didn't use it since someone sugested it in this Vettel Challenge thread.

This behaviour only shows in combination with the X1 , wierd.

You might be better off with out feedback, just unplug the cord from your wheel. I'm not sure if you still reap the benefits of active steering this way.

Gonna try this tomorrow. Thanks.

So i suspect i am the only one experiencing some kind of odd behaviour with Active Steering and a wheel. Well, then i am fine with that. I love my DFGT ;)

I use the Logitech DFGT wheel, and unplugging it disables the wheel input completely. Buttons still work, but no steering so thats worthless. I find the X1 rumbles the heckfire outta the wheel on straights, even with force feedback turned to minimum.

Any tips in turning OFF force feedback while maintaining steering input would be appreciated! Thx

I have the same wheel and I promise you I unplug the input to the power outlet and drive with no feedback. Start up your game just like you normally would, unplug the cord after you have entered the challenge, you will be good to go from there. The GT logo in the middle of the wheel should not light up if you pulled the correct cord.

I get a strange knocking sound when driving the FGT with active steering. DGFT here too.

Does it happen completely random , too? Like on straights, or even when there are no bumps/curbs on the road? Sounds similar to my problem.

With ffb set to 1 , every time i get over 400 km/h i have to hold the wheel in place with excessive force, the X1 wants to wag it's tail so hard.

I'll give it a try, thanks.

Just don't use active steering with wheel, c'mon - it's useless with wheel.
Interesting you should say this - when the GT Acadamy time trial was active, I checked out the settings of the fastest drivers. The top 20 at least were all wheel users and many of them (didn't check all) had active steering set to either mild or strong. Are you suggesting these GT Meisters don't know what they're doing?

On the subject of the massive force feedback you get from the Vettell car in the challenges, has anyone gotten gold on this whilst not having the wheel disconnected from a power supply?

I drove online on a track I designed and experienced very little feedback, but I'm thinking this might be a function of either online or custom track. I'll be checking this later.
