I upgraded my old wheel with a Driving Force GT yesterday, and initially the force feedback (set at 7) was REALLY heavy, so much that my hands and wirsts were left hurting after a session.

Today, it seems much weaker. Is that normal? (maybe the motors are much stronger when it's brand new, I don't now).
It's still stronger than my old crap wheel, but it kinda worries me. Even 10 seems weaker than yesterday at 7.

Try it again tomorrow. Make sure you do it early in the morning before any other activities like lifting weight or driving your car. Drive one car (in the game) that you're completely familiar with and take note of all the settings (including the FFB). Be aware or even make notes of how the FFB feels in your arms. Later on in the evening after the day's activities, repeat what you did in the morning and compare notes.

Sometimes, it's just a matter of your muscle adjusting to what was at first felt different and therefore perceived as being stronger. Unless you've got a method of measuring the force, it remains a tactile experience and the only way to determine it is to remove conditions that might affect your judgement.

after a bit of research, looks like it was a heating issue. I discovered that most wheels loose strenght in force feedback after a few hours of continuated use. I should have thought of that.

Thanks for the feedback though :D
