Hi Folks,

I've just replaced my GT5-era Driving Force GT with a brand new Driving Force GT (I gave away the original one), but this new version feels like it's lacking a certain "oomph".

It has no aggression to it. Even when it powers up and calibrates it's quieter, and calmer, than I remember the old one. It doesn't seem to fight me very much, and even going over curbs is less intense than it used to be.

This is all very subjective, given that I'm relying on my memory.

Has anybody else experienced this? Are the new Driving Force GTs limper than they used to be?

Is the G27 more aggressive than the DF GT?

Thanks for your help, advice, or random opinion.
Kerry

PS: My original wheel is many hours away, so I can't grab it to do a definitive comparison :-(

The one I bought from Logitec and used in GT5 feels the same kinda. GT6 feels like you are actually riding on rubber instead of being glued to the ground.

I had the same thing happening to me a few years ago. Last week I took apart my old one and it had a crack in some part which I don't know the name of, lol. But it was near the gears that make the wheel roll. I suppose this fact is making the old one noisier and more nervous than the new one. It works perfectly though and I still use it

OP is saying the old one was/is better than a new one...not about cracks and how the crack makes it noisy but still usable.

Bump...can anyone confirm the new DFGT's are actually weaker/different?

Because AFAIK there were no revisions to the DFGT so this is odd...maybe OP has a defective model?

Hi there,

What I can tell you is that I´ve bought one DFGT in 2011 and then it got replaced by logitech around the end of 2012, and the second one was definitely weaker.

WOOW.

Logitech are being sneaky and are making the DFGT artificially worse....to save production costs maybe or to drive people to buy g27.

And Sony killing off old ps3's with firmware updates.

LOL
