Hello there guys, how are you doing?
I'm sorry if this is a recurrent topic, or in any case this has been already created, but I can't find precisely what I'm looking for right now.
I've been reading a lot of tips to maintain the wheel functioning ok, but mine just got bad...
So, the basic problem is that when I'm driving, the pedals starts to get pressed without any action of mine. Either accelerating or braking randomly or not as you intend. For example, from time to time, I'm pushing the pedal to its maximum, but it's no use, I can't reach, in game, the max level of acceleration, it is always "hitting" the extreme, but I can't maintain it. Braking is similar, but in the opposite way. I'm not pressing the brakes but it's always braking extremely softly. I realized about it during a replay because of lights.
I had tried cleaning the dust with some compressed air, but only externally, I have never opened neither the pedals nor the wheel.
Have any of you experienced something similar?
Any advice? Wheel is properly mounted and is almost 3 years old already, I think. I use it every day. Maybe is just a matter of age...

Thanks in advance,
Eager Snake.

I don't know if this will help, but the pedals should be cleaned inside the casing regularly - they can get a build up of dust and hair which interferes with their effectiveness. It shouldn't be necessary to open the wheel casing.

Before you take anything apart, if you are not sure what you are doing google driving force gt pedal repair and there is an excellent tutorial follow and pause at each step, you will cure them in no time.
Hope this helps stewyripper.

I had the exact same issue!
Basically you need to take the base of the pedals off and spray the sensors (the thing with the white cog looking thing on) with wd40, also reapply the grease on the pedals if you need too (you will see where the grease goes).
The only thing is, for me the issue comes back once in a while and you have to do it all again, its now done it for the 4th time however this time i cannot fix it so i bought a g27 yesterday...... Just a heads up

Thanks for the answer John. And I think I may have the same situation as you.
The gas pedal is working splendid so far. I was thinking about the grease while I was cleaning the whole thing ¬¬
Right now, is the brake pedal that is still bothering me from time to time. I need to lift it up while playing, but I think is less noticable than before.
I'll try with more time later.

I'm thinking in a T500Rs so... we'´ll see. Again, thanks for answering.

That sounds like you may have misaligned the pedals, something which i also did and took a while to figure out what i did wrong haha.
To sort that, you know when you put the pedals back in you have to match the gears of the pedal to the motor...? Just keep trying slightly different alignments until it is sorted, i can't exactly where it needs to go. Mine is back in its box in storage, but if you really can't fix it i'll grab it and take a pic of how you need to align it.

I just re-opened the whole thing, cleaned a little bit more, AND, applied WD-40 in the metal springs, the ones who offers the resistance when you push the pedals and problem solved. Even the gas pedal is working smoothly again.
I'm going to try the wheel again right now, but until yesterday after the repair it worked amazingly fine. I couldn't be happier...
I just finished the year, had one particular international exam that I wanted to do for quite a long time and I couldn't play GT6 for that reason... and the pedals.
