I have recently purchased the Driving Force GT Steering Wheel for GT5, and there seems to be a big problem with it. If I were to be driving on SSRX, then the wheel will want to jerk around while I'm trying as hard as I can staying in one position. This also goes for any track too. And I've also noticed this weird sound coming from I guess where the wheel is spinning from under the big shell.

Does anyone else have this problem with the wheel? :/

Both are normal.

Hold the wheel tighter or hit the gym.

If you don't want that obnoxious buzzing noise, get a G27.

In a way, it's more about the way you're holding it than how tightly. It's difficult to explain other than to say that when you are used to the direction the FFB will push in, you can hold the wheel perfectly steady without having to have a really tight grip. I'm actually always trying to remind myself to relax my grip.

I'm not sure about this theory, but I think a good indicator of your technique might be whether or not you can let go of the wheel on the straights without it going insane the moment you do. When I've had friends trying the wheel out, even with both the game's and the wheel's feedback strength as low as it will go, they are still always fighting it and don't seem to ever have it steady enough to let go for even an instant. Whereas I can turn the FFB way up and still let go with both hands for several seconds at a time if I'm not going over bumps or going 200+mph. Even then just a finger or two is all it takes to hold it.

Wheels do vary, but I remember having to grip the wheel insanely tightly in GT4 with my old 200-degree DF. That game seemed to always be trying to rip the wheel right out of my hands, far worse than I recall GT3 doing. It drove me nuts and made my hands hurt like mad. But even with that wheel I never had any issue like that in GT5 right from the start. The only time my arms came close to being as "pumped" as they were after an 40-60 minutes of GT4 was after very long fatiguing stints with very little rest during the 24 hours of the Nürburgring, on my new wheel(which I don't think is quite as strong). And that was a good burn. Actually, that race made me hurt everywhere. :)
