I have an opportunity to get the driving force GT for a really good price. Wasn't planning on getting one but I can't pass up on the price (local classifieds).

I know it's a logitech wheel so it'll be quality. But what I'm most concerned about when it comes to getting a new wheel is the size of the wheel. I want a life-size steering wheel and not a toy wheel (like my old original driving force). Is the Driving force GT big or small? In between maybe? :) - Is it bigger than the original driving force? From what I know the Fanatec 911 wheels are the biggest in diameter. Wish someone had a picture with all the popular wheels out there so I could compare by sight.

That does help...that's too tiny for me. An average size wheel is closer to 15 inches...that's a big difference. I guess for $50 I could buy the wheel and maybe replace the wheel with and actual steering wheel. I've seen it done before...just not sure if I have the know how to do it myself.

Could anyone help me out or point me in the right direction to replace the wheel on a driving force GT? I think I may be out of luck on this one. I didn't really want the wheel in the first place plus it's a small wheel :/

Well 11 inches is a average gaming wheel size, but if you want to replace the wheel with a proper one, you'd have to go G25/7

ah the g25/7 wheels are a lot easier to replace?

I think the G25/7 wheels are a fairly good size on their own but i'm not so sure. Bigger is better :D

Yup G25/7 wheels are much easier to replace, chilicoke has some adapters and watch his guides on YouTube.

I am guessing that you'll want to replace them since they are the same 11 inch size as DFGT.

Well chilicoke knows all, that's for sure. Another problem with replacing the wheel though is what about the buttons? Not having buttons would be...a drawback to be sure. Also not sure where I would get an aftermarket steering wheel that fits into 70mm, I only found a few on ebay.

Buttons are not a problem, believe me !

Not pretty, but it's more of a concept to see if it worked, could be made to look alot more professional.

I found that MOMO wheel too big and heavy though, and have decided to severely modify the original G25 wheel, if it works out I'll post a picture, if it doesn't, I'll have to save up for one of these.....
