I'm thinking of buying one on eBay, and I was just wondering what the general consensus of a Gran Turismo community would think about the differences, pros, cons, etc. I mainly like the shifter on the pro better, but is there any other advantages/disadvantages? For instance, I could get a Driving Force for around $45-50 whereas the Pro would be over $100. Any input would be appreciated :)

I'm in the same boat Thirdeye. I have NFSU2 and I know that only works with the Pro or so Logitech says so it looks like I'll have to fork over the extra cash to play both games. Plus, having a shifter is aight.

The DFP is superior in every way. The wheel seems better laid out.. no longer are the buttons under your hands while you're driving (which could concievably mean inadvertant button-presses whenever you went 'round a corner). There's the shifter, which I much prefer over the paddles. And not least of which, is the 900 steering.. no 180 wheel could ever give you that kind of finesse and realism.

Nicely said...though most cars don't even have a 900° wheel, it has to be a lot more fun then 180. Definetly worth the money.

Whatsoever, on my live For Speed comunity a few people complained about the quality of the pedals. Many people are using the DFP but a few ones say their set has pedal problems. Usualy If you get some problems Logitech should honor their warranty...but it makes you think. I still beleive it's a kick ass wheel, but i'm waiting to learn more about those pedals problems.

Haven't had any problems with my pedals so far. I bought mine used and refurbished, so it's possible Logitech repaired the pedal problem during the refurbishment. Which makes the price I paid ($75) even better. :)

Where did you get yours, Jedi?

I've been thinking of getting a wheel too, but wasn't sure which one. Good thing I found this thread. :)

Went ahead and bought one on ebay. Hopefully I won't have any trouble with the pedals (It's brand new).

I have the regular driving force, purchased it 2 years ago. I like it and have no big complaint about it. It works with all my PC racing games: CMR2, GPL,RBR, Fi challenge 1999-2002 + all the mods for it. I don't think I'll buy a Pro model right now but of course If you can get a pro model don't hesitate, get it.
