I know there's probably a thread about wheels somewhere, but I couldn't find it!

I bought my Driving Force Pro a long time when GT4 came out. I stopped using it and it was locked up in my closet for a long time. I've lost the power adapter for it, so I was playing GT5 with a normal Dualshock since it came out. I finally found a replacement for my Driving Force Pro and for the first time in over five years, I finally brought my Driving Force Pro out and decided to play some GT5 with it.

So I set it all up. I put the USB Wire into the first USB Port of the PS3, connected the Pedals, and connected the wheel to a power supply. I turned on my PS3, and it configured it self. After the configuration was done, I jumped into GT5. Straight away I noticed I couldn't use the buttons when it prompted me to hit OK about the HDD stuff. I had to turn my Dualshock on and use that. I tried jumping into a race and and the wheel doesn't work. On top of that, I can't race with my Dualshock either. I can gas and reverse, but I can't steer.

The wheel does an uneven blinking. First light comes on, then second lights comes on, then the first turns off, and the second turns off. The wheel can work, because it spun during the configuration, but I have 0 control in game. I have the latest firmware update for my PS3, but not the latest for GT5. I haven't updated this game since Summer 2011.

Can anybody please help!?

I used to use a DFP and had no issues at all with GT5. You could try pressing Select, R2 and the right paddle shifter (i think that's the combo) which will lock the wheel at 200*. Then do it again, which will put it back to 900* and might fix your issue.

Hope this helps, good luck 👍

Make sure the voltage for the replacement power adapter is correct and that the connection is correct for positive/negative (center pin vs. outside cylinder) (can probably google it).
Also, I always load GT5, then plug in the power adapter, then plugin the USB.

Thanks for everybody's feedback!

So I completely updated GT5 to the latest update, in hope that it might work, and it doesn't. I tried going into the options, but it gives me nothing but setting up your buttons. I tried setting up the wheel the way Qxs-Storm told me to, but still nothing. I tried other games, just to check whether the problem was with GT5 or the wheel. I tried Burnout Paradise since its the only other racer I have that's compadible with the Driving Force Pro, and again no responce from the wheel.

I am, however, not using the actual Logitech AC Adapter. I'm using my laptop adapter, but the jack seems to fit in fine, and I know it has power because it zips back and forth when it's connected to power and my PS3. Could that possibly be the problem? If I buy the factory AC Adapter, could my problem be solved?

I definately think the power adapter is your problem.

However, I think you'd be better served to buy a new wheel then start buying parts for the DFP.

Simply call Logitech, tell them your DFP stopped working, and they should give you (if you ask) a 50% off code on a G27 wheel.

You will be blown away by the difference in quality. The DFP is old technology, and it shows. I've owned the DFP, DFGT & the G27 so I've tried em all.

I don't think your problem lies in GT5 or Burnside Paradise so far as I hear the wheel takes no response from your console except for the moment when you do the configuration for your DFP, whichever game you play... but is in your AC adapter. With a different type of wire or having poor connection, your wheel doesn't operate properly no matter the connecting process was successful with no problem.
