Advice for 900 degree users on gt3, stop while you still can it has really shown me that the game is not supported for this steering mode.

Just a few days ago while practicing my drifts in 900 degree mode, I went a little aggressive on the wheel the poor thing finally snapped on me! The stop-point on 200 degree mode while turning right is no longer there. Instead, I am able to turn the wheel fully and can hear screeching noises in the gears that have been dislocated.

Eventually, I was able to call logitech about it and get a replacement thanks to the 1 year warranty.

A BRAND NEW wheel, awweee cool!!! :) :O :O :D

Just to clarify - you've been using the 900 degree mode of the Driving Force Pro to play GT3. Something has happened inside the wheel while you were doing this which has broken the physical lock that would come in when you were playing in 200 (actually, I think it's 180 degrees, but we move on) degree mode. Right?

How odd! I wonder how playing in 900 degree mode could damage the wheel in such a way as to stop 200 degree mode work

I have a feeling it was JUST a malfunction with the wheel, not unlocking it and using it in GT3. Like, the wheel would have broken no matter what game you were playing, it just broke. Either way, it sucks that it busted, but is good to know Logitech was fast on honoring thier warranty.

Edit: Oh yeah, and I hope it doesn't happen to me...

I was a little too aggresive turning the wheel, spinning it back and forth forcing the force feedback in ways the game doesn't support. I guess it could have gone either way, the wheel was working fine ever since I got it.

I'll just have to take a rest and wait until gt4 which comes out in less than a month!!!

Maybe the 180degree mode turned on while driving, then the locks went on when the wheel visited the center position and snap, locks break due to excessive force used while steering too much :odd:

Hate to burst you bubble but GT4 is not coming out in less then a month; less then a year would be more accurate. Unless you are referring to prologue which could possibly come out in a month or so, but I haven’t heard of a US release for that at all.
