I tried to search for a thread on this but couldn't find one.

Basically I just went into a lobby online and the race was already in session. I entered the watch mode and one of the guys was in an Elise (not sure the exact model). This guy was reversing around the whole track, and keeping up with the guys driving normally O_O

Another guy was on a mic asking him how the heck he does that?!

Is it just my ps3 rendering the car the wrong way or is this actually a possible hack/cheat/bug?

I'll post a video if anybody wants to see it.

Certain cars are capable of this, something that needs to be corrected. If you come across this, my best advice would be to find another room where people are racing properly.

Are you sure it was an Elise and not the Tesla Roadster (which is based on the Elise)? I know that the Tesla is capable of high speeds in reverse due to it's one speed transmission with doesn't so much go into reverse but rather just changes the direction of the motor's rotation. Aka it's backward speed is the same as it's forward speed, and in this case it is not a glitch.

How do you explain this one?

How do you explain this one?

I don't know for sure, that very well could be considered a glitch, but I suppose if you stretched the final gear enough, along with the usually tranny trick, you can probably go pretty quick in reverse.

I've been in a online race with a premium Elise, the older one, that was doing the race backwards. I actually saved the replay. Was yours pink ?

Yh I should have saved it as well but I just recorded on my phone. Here's the link.

This is from my phone so I'm not sure how to embed the video, and I hope it shows properly! Also sorry about it being sideways I couldn't be bothered to edit it lol.

EDIT: it was a white Elise as you can see :)

The Elise could well be a glitch showing the car the wrong way around, but the NSX vid is odd altogether. Not only is the NSX drifting backwards, but the Civic appears to be spinning its rear wheels. Perhaps they are hacks and the hackers have found a way to switch the body position?

If you can stretch the first gear long enough, 100+ probably isn't too hard in reverse. (Being that reverse is the same as 1st gear in real life and GT6)

I assume the hybrid glitch is because the car only has the "D" gear, so PD must of overlooked the fact that reverse could go as fast as "D", as I'm pretty sure it's not like that in real life.

Yh it does look like some sort of glitch (accidental or on purpose) but the guy who was doing it was saying he's been able to do that since gt5. I mean obviously he could be lying but it makes you wonder.

At the end he does turn and do a 180 so that he faces forward and the actual front wheels are what turn so it kind of seems as though the body hasn't just been reversed.

Well, that Japanese vid is wrong as well. Drive NSX in reverse and it has front wheels drive with rear wheels steering. I'm quite sure car would not be able to drift in that situation.

Yh that drifting video is weird. I'm in a lobby with that guy again (found him randomly) now he's in 1st in a seven fireblade in reverse! Think it's just skill plus a very long revers gear. But I may be wrong. Is it possible to do that easily?

The NSX and Civic one could be a GT5 vid ? The chassis swap thing possibly ?
it seems like he is actually going forward but the model of the car is backward. wouldn't be that hard if you really tried.

My thought exactly, I could probably do it within 5 minutes ( On GT5 ) However, There are no ( that I know of at least ) editors out for GT6...

But there is nothing in that video showing clearly that it is GT6 and not GT5

The Chaparral 2J has such a high reverse gear that you can't actually redline it if you stretch it all the way. It can do 420km/h+ though, then it tends to spin out :nervous:

Both videos are GT6 - smoke, shaders, motion blur, names over car, all in GT6 only (unless someone spent ages in After Effects).

Japanese just win big time on drifting, Keichi Tsuchiya will drop his jaw at this.

I wonder how did he manage to drift that Civic though...

Civic: Handbrake. It looks like the rear tyres are locked.

As for NSX, I assume you can do the same, just change brake bias to 10 front 0 rear and you've effectively got a reversed handbrake. So it's like an FF car with steering in the back. The NSX is clearly in reverse gear, you can hear him going at top speed and before corners he applies the handbrake to brake with the "front" (rear) wheels. The tricky part would be the steering, but with some practice I suppose...

No seriously, the only possible explanation.
