Alright I'm intrested in going to a driving school. I've done some drivers training through GM, but it wasn't anything special. But I want to attend a driving school that is either in Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, or one of the states close to Michigan.

Also if you attend a driving school, will your insurence go down? I remember hearing that somewhere along the way.

But any suggestions? Racing, drifting, defensive driving, doesn't matter...I just want some higher education in driving.

Bodourant is supposed to be a good one out in Vegas, I think...

Other than that, I know that the Skip Barber Racing School used to have a touring school that went across the country...

Hey, if you own a BMW you can go to one of their track days where they teach you how to drive their cars... I know my nearest racetrack (Grattan) holds that event, assuming the track isnt rented out by Car and Driver, GM, or Ford...

If I can ever afford to go, I'm going to take the ladder program at Mid-Ohio. Great track and fairly close to where I live. Check it out, it may suit your needs. (But maybe not your budget) You can use your own vehicle also, which is nice, and what I would do if I went.:)

This is were I train almost every month http://www.jesco.be/nl/setpafoto.htm). Granted, it's not in the US. The lessons I learn the most of are defensive and offensive driving ==> i.e drifting) and power slides. I startec with defensive driving and moved on with offensief driving. Now after 4 years, I can start thinking about race training.

$525 isn't to bad because I wouldn't use the Blazer. I might think about this...thanks.

This is something I want to do too. I'm thinking about doing it sometime next summer. (2007) I've always thought I would go to Skip Barber.

Skip Barbers stuff seems awesome, plus depending on your skill, you can move into the formula cars and get invited to track meets and even races. Robin Warner, a writer for Car & Driver has been working on that for awhile now, mighty expensive once you start racing, but the schools are apparently unequaled!

I think you're looking at a different course than I am. I want to do the one where you go for three consecutive days. 2420 to use their Acura TSX, 1950 to use my Mazdaspeed MX-5.

If I get a chance to go I want to to all three classes at one time.:) Not much chance I can save that much money though.:indiff:
