DS2 Setup in GT4

I've been using the DS2 for GT3 and now for GT4. I've noticed that even though I use the configuration menu to setup the left-stick for gas/brake and the right stick for steering, the right stick will still control gas/brake. This really screws me up in the turns as slight up and down movement on the right stick gives gas/brake commands.

Is there any way to get the throttle command removed from the right stick completely?
 
No, I don't think so. I believe it just defaults that way. I used the left stick for steering and right stick for gas/brake (before I got my wheel) and I was horrified to see that there is no actual menu setting that allows you to use the right stick for gas/brake... but it still works anyway. I guess since you can't turn it on, there's no way to turn it off, either.
