It's not really affordable/practical for me to buy/use a DFP with GT4. So I use a DS2. But I still want to have the flexibility such that I can operate throttle and brakes simultaneously. To do this, I rest my thumb over both X and Square. I can easily manipulate throttle and brake to any pair of inputs. I practice this by entering one of the driving missions where you have to wait for 2 minutes before you can start, and aim to achieve a certain input for brake and throttle, say I aim for 2/3 brake and 1/4 throttle, and try to manipulate the buttons to achieve that input (whilst watching the brake/throttle bars to see how well I am doing).
It really hit me how useful left foot braking can be, when I was doing the cone slalom tests. To get gold isn't too hard, but with left-foot braking and ASM, one can even get under 17 seconds (gold is 17.700). I am sure someone can do it without LFB, but they would have to be a better driver to do so.
So, do you use a DS2? If so, do you left-foot brake?
