Although a long time GT player I have always preferred the controller over the wheel, but I have to say the sixaxis is pants without any feedback. Has anyone used the DS3 with this game, and if so what is the feedback like ?

Thanks

Steven

on some cars, the DS3 will rumble as you accelerate from a stop (honda integra) and some others i cant quite recall. Also when breaking traction taking a curve the controller vibrates a bit, the most reaction you will feel from the controller is clipping the rumble strips on the side of the tracks. All in all the DS3 is great i prefer it to the normal controller. It is a bit heavier and the controls feel much more firm. It also works great on other games like uncharted, and Ratchet & clank..

For some reason, the sticks feel more precise. The triggers and all the other buttons are the same. It's a little heavier, but not by much. Battery life about the same...

Rumble felt a bit weak in spec I, but since the update, wow. Much, much stronger and more precise too, than the DS2 and GT4.

Definitely get one.

April 15 in the USA.
May 2 in Europe.

I felt that the DS3 has been a significant improvement over the DS2.

The feedback seems to be a lot smoother with the DS3, this is useful especially over the kerbs of London.

Perhaps this is just me, but since the update and being able to lock wheels the DS3 feels nicer again, with patches of vibration as you cadence brake (add/remove pressure on the brakes to prevent wheel locking) allowing you to judge more accurately how close to lock up you are.

As others have also said, the extra weight of the DS3 also helps it to feel a little more comfortable in your hands. I always found that the SIXAXIS was too light and would "give" a little when making multiple inputs at the same time.

In my view DS3 is a fantastic investment and should have been what the PS3 shipped with in the first place! Just don't order from CD-WOW.com, i've just ordered a second DS3 from them. The first one arrived within 3 days, the second is taking ages, i've just received a 4th delay email stating "we will not be receiving stocks within the foreseeable future due to supply problems"

I'd recommend getting down to your local independent game shop and buying one from there it's worth that little extra (most are selling them for between £35 and £45)

Hope this helps!

Are Japanese DS3 controllers 100% identical to what we'll be getting over here (in terms of both aesthetics and function)?

On the subject of the DS3, has anyone noticed that some rumble strips don't make the controller rumble?

There is one track (can't remember which) which has rumble strips and make a noise (through the rear channel) as you go over them but there is no rumble!!
