New here. I was in a race online, went into a corner closely following a car, and when I hit the breaks, they didn't turn on. Needless to say, I destroyed the race. At first I thought my finger missed the break button, which at the time was mapped to R2, but then it happened again. It only happens in some corners, though. For example, the turn after the first tunnel in Deep Forest.

I remapped the controller so that R1 was the breaks, and I still noticed it happening. I switched controllers, and it still happens. I've tried it in practice mode and online. Some days it's consistent, other days it will only happen once. In the worst case scenario, the brakes won't come on, then they come on two to three seconds later. Has anyone else experienced this problem? I'm using a new PS3 slim model.

Or your controllers aren't synchronized properly, since you mentioned your new PS3, although if you're using the controller that came with the console and it still fell out of sync, that would be a first to me.

I once got a regular SIXAXIS (no dual shock) and the thing kept falling out of sync with my PS3 (80GB chubby model)

This sounds stupid but when I place by controller near my iPhone, it starts messing up the button signals, very annoying in b-spec.... :-|

No, controllers buttons work in other games. I think all controllers are the same but I used the one it came with and the new one I got for 2P mode.

That might have some thing to do with it.... We just got a new TV remote about the same time the brakes started bugging.
For a minute while playing, I thought they were simulating brake fade :sly:
But the brake indicator was not responding....:dunce:

Could be interference, try taking the batteries out of the remote or something and playing for a while.

Reset your controller, there is a reset button on the back of it. You need a paper clip or pin to get to it. After, remap your controller's buttons in game.

Thanks all, changed rooms (house rooms not game rooms), seemed to fix it for now. I will still look into resting the controller.
