DST Settings

In your options, you are able to "Automatically Detect DST Settings" or have "DST Settings Always On". This would be nice, as we get DST in Australia (some parts), but these DST Settings are only for the Northern Hemisphere.

Would it be possible to get DST Settings for Australia (you set your clocks forward 1 hour here instead of backwards 1 hour when entering DST, and vice versa when leaving DST)?

Thanks,
Jimmy.

From what I gather from a quick search of the vB support forums, if you choose to Automatically Detect DST Settings then it should already move forward or back for you depending on where you are. So did your clock move backwards when it should have moved forward?

Mine did, but the wrong way. I moved 1 hour back, when in Aus it is supposed to move one hour forward, so I had to change time zones. It wouldbe good if it could interpret from your time zone when and what it has to do DST wise.

Or if you could simply create another option in the DST Settings that allows you to set it between Northern and Southern Hemisphere.

Yes, exactly. They are in the Northern Hemisphere, too. Just a setting for the Northen and Southern Hemispheres.

Northern Hemisphere sets their clocks forward 1 hour heading into Daylight Savings. They set it back 1 hour heading out.
Southern Hemisphere set their clocks backward 1 hour heading into Daylight Savings. They set it forward 1 hour heading out.

That's for Jordan, if he decided he will do this.

Oops, Southern Hemisphere*.

Just wondering if there's been any thought on this, or maybe a possibility of this happening? It's a small thing, but it does get annoying when it gets around to actually having to change the settings.

Well, to be perfectly honest with you, I have no idea how to fix this. vB3's time system is extremely complex and I wouldn't know where to begin fixing this problem. The developers also insist that this particular issue has been addressed quite some time ago. So, I really don't know what else to do. :(

Ahh ok, no worries then. I would have thought the time system would have been quite easy in coding terms. I do coding in a class at school, and all of the Time Coding we do seem to be quite easy.

Don't worry about it anyway, don't waste your time. Thanks for the help, anyway.
