Well, I see no threads made for this yet, so why don't I be an active citizen and start one myself
So, new season starts 22nd of April in Hockenheim (as always). You guys looking forward to it yet?
I know I am. DTM is propably the most exciting touring car series on earth. Eventhough it only has Merc and Audi competing it's still way better than WTCC (in my opinion that is!!!). I will try to listen to as many races as I possibly can from the internet radio. Shame they don't show it in TV here in Finland.
It's quite hard to say who's going to be fast and who's going to be slow, but it would be rather logical if the new versions of the C-Class and the A4 would be faster than the older ones. So that would give a slight advantage for Schneider, Spengler, Ekstroem, Tomczyk, Green, Hakkinen, Kristensen and Schneider. But I believe that even if those guys had the last years versions, they'd be the eight guys determining the champion this year.
Or well there are some new interesting drivers in the series this year. Audi signed two young guns, Mike Rockenfeller and Lucas Luhr, but I really don't have any idea how good of a drivers they are.
Then Mercedes took a 20-year-old Brit Paul di Resta under it wings, so we'll see if that was as good of a move as taking Lewis Hamilton to the F1 team
Mugello is back in the track list, but I still think the most intense race will be seen in the narrow streets of Nürnberg's Norisring.
Both, Merc and Audi have already presented their '07 models of the racers. the Audi is still the old A4 with lots and lots of new parts in it. The '07 Merc at the other hand is a completely new car. It's based on the new C-Class, so practically nothing remains the same.
What's your view on the season? Let us know!
And let it be one heck of a DTM season!
