Deadline extended due to me being away for 3 days.

Looks like an interesting series if any of the Opel boys need a break or something ill fill in.

I'm in the need of a teammate at the moment, if you're interested take a spin around here in the Audi A4 touring car. (Arcade mode, AI set to -2, power level +1% and weight -7%)

George, this deadline extension means November 3rd,doesn't it?
I have only my qualifying lap,so it's time to work on the race...

I'm not sure,so I will submit tomorrow in the morning.
I'm working on the race result in this moment.
Done the race 3 times, some time left in it and I don't feel the rhythm of the track now.:indiff:
Wish I did it on the same day when I ran the qualifying...

O.K.,I finished.
I feel my result couldn't be better,so bye-bye Laguna Seca for a long time,I hope.:yuck:
Time sent to Mr. Morley.

It says the 31st (tomorrow) so it may mean that the deadline is on the third or the original deadline was the 28th. Whatever, I sent my times ages ago.

Well obviously George is not around to answer the question. It's just vague as to what the deadline is. Guess I wouldn't mind if I had all my work done....but I don't. Guess I'll go get at least one run in.

Sorry, I'm back now, I'll give you all to 5:00 PM UK time, I'm going out at 6PM and won't be online until 3PM tomorrow.

Well, time sent.
Lousy qual again :grumpy:
shaved a bunch of time off my first attempt at the race, which means I'm still sucking dust :ouch:

Ran a 5 and 6 stint, RS/RM, pretty steady on the lap times, about 2 seconds per lap slower than my qual.

Laz ? Worked pretty hard at trying to get the times down. Shaved 15 seconds or so.

Now it's off to push my under powered squirrel around a new track for me, LMS.

J.R.

Results posted, a very clean week this week, thanks everyone! :).

Round 13 up in a moment.

Great George, I thought we had till 12:00 AM UK time to get our times in??? First there was confusion as to the date and now as I'm ready to send in my times 1 1/2 hours before deadline and see you've changed it...wtf.

Well this SUCKS THE BIG ONE!

I thought that we had 3 extra days to submit - 31st + 3 = 3rd November! WTF??????
I can't remember if th original deadline was for the 28th or the 31st, but the original deadline being a tuesday rings a bell.

It would have helped if the update was within the thread, as a post, not an edit to the first post, as that doesn't highlight the thread.

Had no internet access till now, because BT's main server went down, now I find I don't have 3 extra days at all but 5 extra hours instead (and that expired hours ago).

I am not a happy bunny! SERIOUSLY!:grumpy:

*text removed by ME!*
OK, I have calmed down a bit now!
Still not happy, but not blazin mad any more.

Got to think about where I go from here.
Neil
:banghead:

I wasted alot of time on this race....George ya gotta keep us updated when you change submission times at the last minute...and not the few hours you gave us.

Firstly, the deadline is 12:00 Midday, not midnight, thats why I always put the results up around 1PM in the afternoon.

And you should know now that you get 6 days to submit, so the deadline would have been 28th, but three added days makes it 31st.

And it says in the thread title the 31st

Maybe you shouldn't have changed the thread-title & deadline in the first post George!

Then your 3 days added to the deadline comment, would a) have made sense and b) not confused 3/4 of the participants.

And the fact that it's a 6 day week, means that the day of submission changes every race!
It's hard enough keeping track of deadlines as it is, to be honest with you.

I just look at the thread title, first post (whatever) and work from that. Changing the date in the title etc AND then adding the 3 days extra bit in bold made it confusing.

Did the date change?, am I losing my memory?, am I going senile?, does he mean the 31st or the 3rd?

A stable deadline, ie Sunday, Monday, Tuesday 1200 hrs GMT every week would help.

Maybe it's just me? I don't know?

But I'm still not happy.

Neil

Well I'm sorry (btw, it confused 2 drivers not 3/4 ), it won't happen again for two reasons:

I'm not going away anytime soon.

I'll make the date more clear (ie, Tuesday xx December).

Neil's correct, and for the last few days we've been asking for clarification as to the deadline, no clarification was ever given until it was too late.

Not happy with the communication or clarity of deadlines.
EDIT:
No George, maybe only two of us didn't submitt, but nobody was sure of the deadline date...NOBODY!

A very big congratulation goes to sausages, great run.👍
May I ask what was your splits in your qualifying lap?
Oldphart, that was the best I can did in this one:indiff: ...sorry,mate.
But you,you were brillant.👍 👍 👍

Thanks GTX - I got lucky in my last 5 mins of running! My previous bests were all in the 1'16s, but this time I took the fast uphill left after T2 about 10km/h faster than usual and just managed to keep it together on the exit!
I'll post splits (and a replay if I can get the maxdrive to work) when I get home. It's unusual how our times always seem to be so close together...

Well done everyone who tackled this - I always find Laguna a tough one to race cleanly because that left is quite hard to judge.

Sorry to those who raced and missed the deadline. I know how you feel because in the first week I raced to an 8pm deadline as I think was stated in the original rules thread I was directed to, and the second week (my fault) I wrongly assumed it would be on the same day of the week not realising we were on a 6-day cycle.
Most of this confusion could be prevented by adding clear and accurate deadline details into the first post of each race thread.
George, can’t those members who missed the deadline be allowed to submit late on this occasion?

First off, 👍 to the podium

thanks Lazlo for the kind words... my first complete race was somewhere around 15:37 or so...

George, Andy does have a point. I wasn't sure when the race was due, but submitted just to cover my a@@. Not even sure if we can re-submit ? I was a little confussed, but I was born that way :sly:

J.R.

qualifying splits were:
19.166
37.369
56.156
1'15.892

most of the time was made in T2-3 as I took the uphill left much better than before...

Well done Sausages for his first Win, great job 👍

Sorry for not submiting for this round, I had my times ready to give in monday morning, but then shxt happened and I lost my chance, i'll have some times in for round 13 for sure!
