UPDATED - Test run sunday 30th

Back by popular demand :)

Welcome to the Fun Racers 2 hour Endurance event.

Following the succes of the first Fun Racers Le Mans event I've decided to set it up again. The race is a small tribute to my favourite motorsporting event - Le Mans 24 Hour race. Now we won't race for 24 hours, because let's face it, nobody can hold their pee for that long. So it will be a 2 hour race, give or take 15 minutes.

The time progression will be set so it mirrors a full 24 hour cycle, meaning there will be both day and night racing.
Now the weather forecast for November 1 says sunny skies, so the race will start dry... however Mother Nature is a fickle thing, so be prepared for a little water, just in case.

We will be racing two type of Cars
GT-Cars
LMP-Cars
The usuable cars are listet further down.
The aim is to get a 50/50 grid between the two classes.

The Setup
- No Skid Recovery Force
- No Active Steering
- No ASM
- Grip Reduction real
- No penalties - So be on your best behavior :)
- Heavy Damage
- Traction Control allowed
- Driving Line allowed
- Racing Medium tires
- Only one entry of every car, first come first serve basis (just to get a little diversity on the grid)

Since we are using two types of cars there are some ground rules that must always be followed.
1. Clean Driving
2. If you are being overtaken by a faster car stick to your line and let the other car pass
3. If you are overtaking a slower car, don’t be reckless, wait for a clear opening
4. When overtaking a slower car at night, signal with your headlights that you are coming through (if possible), not mandatory, mostly just meant as a realism thing :)
Any further questions, please consult the FR Clean Driving Handbook

The Race will take place on Tuesday November 1 at 8.30 pm British time (or what ever you call it this time of year)/9.30 CET . I will open the lounge at 8pm. Please do NOT join the room before 8pm, as this might cause problems in the setup. And do remember to clear network cache and restart your PS3 before joining.

The first 30 minutes will be warm up, there won't be an actual qualification since it doesn't make a big difference for these longer races

Chatter while driving is more than welcome, so grab your headset.

So... yeah, that's about it

Cheers

PS. Please be sure you are actually gonna be able to make the race when you sign up!!

PPS. Ofcourse if you sign up, and later find out that you can't make it afterall, that's okay, please just drop a line about it here

PPPS. Add me to your PSN FL if you havent allready - CSSDK

PPPPS. Feel free to join the Fun Racers. A casual group that run all kinds of races, be it longer endurance races and race series, to shorter sprint races and surprise nights

UPDATE!
This sunday I will host a test run in my lounge at 3 pm BST/4 PM CET, so swing by :-)

I'll go with the Speed 8 for this but are we using boost? That would wreck strategies so I recommend not to.:)

I'll take an ORECA 908... what time ya looking at for this?

Both added... and the boost thing hasn't been decided yet, we will try it out during the testrun...

Too bad I can't make it. This sounds like an exciting event, something I'd like to do, but I'm in a different time zone, GMT -6.

Oh well.. have fun guys!

i would like to race well take the mercedes clk lm if gt doesn't get more drivers and you need them i'll switch

dose any one know what the Eastern time zone time would be, im in rhode island but i dont want to be doing this at 1 AM
and if its not super early ill take the viper oreca #51

4. When overtaking a slower car at night, signal with your headlights that you are coming through (if possible), not mandatory, mostly just meant as a realism thing

I wish the Mazda could signal=( But I do not see myself doing much passing, but looking forward to a great race.

Also, clocks are changing back to GMT in the UK 250 GTO, so BST is irrelevent.:)

well... i don't know when this thing takes place anymore...

I'm not sure what regions are changing back to winter time on sunday but if the Denmark time-zone isn't, then 7:30 GMT would be the same time for you.;)

Hey guys. Sorry I went AWOL last night, but I got held op at work until 11 pm.
