Anyone has had issues with the r2 button? I bought my set a week ago and played f1CE. I switch to MGS4, hit the r2 button and release it, the item menu is kinda still up as if i'm holding down the button. Is the quality of the spring that sucky so to say? The feel is kinda spongy now after all the Gt5 and f1 gaming=/

Yes the spring is not that great. I have a DS3 with a weak L2. But that was after I dropped it so it was kinda my fault.

If its new take it back and get a refund. If its used get a new one! Ive had no real problems with my controllers, they are quite sturdy units.

No, don't buy a new one. I've had that happen to me twice, in the GT5P era where I raced a lot more with the controller. All the downshifting made my L2 button spring break on 2 of my controllers.

Just find a 3 1/4 diskette, break it and cut the spring so it matches the size of the spring of your trigger buttons. Believe it or not, the springs from diskettes are actually stiffer and thicker, leaving your PS3 controller triggers feeling great.

PROTIP: If your controller isn't under warranty and you're intending to follow this road, change both springs in one go instead of waiting for the other one to break. It'll happen eventually anyways. It is also a great oportunity to thoroughly clean your controller inside and out.

Mine got some stuff in it and I took the controller apart and cleaned it. works great now.

I've never had a problem with the springs
