Hey everybody new here , ive been drifting ever since i got another ps2 to replace my old busted one and a new copy of gt3 (had the first version of the ps2 and it ate my original gt3 disc :( ) and iam having problems modulating the throttle sometimes even though the dualshock 2 has pressure sensitive buttons its really hard to stay on a certain throttle level so you can hold a drift and it usually ends up with the car either spinning out or not drifting at all lol. So i was wondering will this wheel help me out considerably with throttle control ?

also is their going to be a updated wheel for gt4 or is this going to be pretty much the same wheel that is gonna be offered ?

The wheel will definetly help you out with throttle/steering controll (unless your name i silviadrifter and u can drift with a kitchen knife and a straw:lol:) compared to the dual shock. I use the wheel myself and i must say its awesome. Love the force feedback and the throttle is juuuust right for me.
What u can test out before you buy a wheel is to adjust your controlles so you accelerate with the right analog stick. If that works for u, u will save a buck or 100 on not buying a wheel.

The Driving Force Pro is the offical "GT4 Wheel" so no it wont be a new one afaik.

Oh, and by the way. Welcome to GTP. :)

lol, thanks for the vote of confidence, Bazz......... I strive to emulate the control of a wheel, with the Dual Shock, and I think it has payed off.......... I will definately be getting the DFP when I have the money to, but until then, I will continue to use my 2 analog sticks (left for steering, and right for throttle and braking)........

;)

The Driving force pro is probably the best wheel there is. The price is reasonable, it has 900 turning radius (supported in gt4 but it works in all other games as well, also on PC) It has excellent grip and a gearstick. The brake is a bit loose, though it can be fixed by a few adjustments. Force effects are great too.

Drifting with this thing is a blast, i haven't used the dualshock for 3 months now.

thanks for all the replys , been really helpful my next 2 purchases will defentely be this wheel/pedal combo and a reserved copy of GT4 :)

so, is it official? does the GT Driving Pro wheel work on a PC? and if so, does the computer automatically recognize it? (using XP that is)

Yup. It's a USB wheel and it works perfectly on XP with Logitech's newest drivers. I've tried it on Viper racing, Need for speed underground, F1 Challenge 99-02 etc. Force effects work great too.

hmm, even though i have the logitech momo steering wheel for my computer. but hopefully i should find someone who has one so i can try it out.

It's stupid how computer and PS2 controllers can't always be mixed between the two platforms. I mean they are both essentially computers and they both have USB ports so wtf?

Anyways, Shadow Drifter backed out of a really good offer (not that I blame him or anything, due to a recent costly incident) so I went and ordered one a couple hours ago. It should be here late next week.

Stay tuned!
