This was the most elegant car, mechanically novel in some details, but generally a sound racing machine. The straight-8 engine had only a single overhead camshaft and three valves per cylinder (the two exhaust valves were operated by a forked rocker). A twin overhead camshaft version was produced in 1923. Initially, the car had cable-operated brakes (in some track races on the rear wheels only), but hydraulic four wheel brakes were introduced almost immediately, and were the first to be seen in Grand Prix racing. The advantage these brakes gave drivers into corners was complemented by the flexibility of the engine when accelerating. These qualities more than compensated for the three speed gearbox, which betrayed the track racing origins of this car.

We definitely need more vintage cars on GT. The Auto Union V16 is great, but its pretty lonely since PD removed the Ford Model T, Daimler Motor Carriage and Patent Motor Wagen...as slow as they were, they were still great collectors pieces. :D

I don't know why they go through all the effort & man hours of getting a complete Model T as an example only to drop it for the following editions. What a waste.

Yeah, so many good cars from GT4 that were just dropped in GT6, like the Ginetta G4, Ford Model T, 1886 Carriages, Nike One 2022, Toyota MotorTriathalon, FPV GT + Typhoon, etc...

As an Aussie, the FPV omissions were hard to take but fortunately they left the Holdens in which are my preference.
Never gave a hoot for the Nike or the Toyota though, too far fetched for me.
