I'm trying to figure out how to dupe cars. I've figured you send a car from account A to account B, then reload the backed up game data on account A. Is that correct?

After the reload will Account A be able to send another car or will it have to wait for the next reset?

Yes to both questions. That is how you dupe a car, and you will still have to wait until the next reset to send a car.

You will need about 2 Flash Drives, 1 for each account. Try to refresh on a regular basis and take your time.

Why does account B need to be backed up?

You don't need to backup both accounts on separate drives. You can use one, but you have to be careful that you don't mix up your steps.

Let's say that you want to a Bullcrappie Drivercar GT but don't want to lose half a million buying it, so you decide this is the car you want for free today. You have two accounts, which I will call "Adam" and "Bob" (A and B, you see). Adam is your primary account and Bob is the one you use for your duping.

First, backup Adam's save file to your USB drive. Then load up the game as Adam and buy your Bullcrappie Drivercar GT. Send the Bullcrappie Drivercar GT to Bob, but don't switch users to play as Bob yet. Exit GT5 and then transfer your USB backup back to your PS3, effectively giving you your half million bucks back, but without the Bullcrappie Drivercar GT. That's fine because it's still in the network on its way to Bob. Once it's been gifted to Bob, your save file cares nothing about what became of that car. The network has it.

Now, after you're restored Adam's save file back to your PS3, switch users to Bob. Don't back up his file yet. Wait until after you load the game and receive the Bullcrappie Drivercar GT. Once you've done this, you can either just gift it straight back to Adam, which will get you your car at no cost to you, or you could keep it on both accounts. To do this, leave the game before gifting the car back to Adam. Backup Bob's save file to your USB drive. Load the game back up and then gift the Bullcrappie Drivercar GT to Adam. Exit the game and restore Bob's save file to your PS3.

Now Adam has a free Bullcrappie Drivercar GT, and if you took my extra steps you have another one on Bob's profile as well, all free to both accounts.

An alternative method is to get Bob a bunch of credits and just backup his file to USB. Have Bob buy the car you want, gift it to Adam, and then restore Bob's backup file back to your PS3, giving Bob his money back. This requires that Bob have sufficient spending money, of course.

Note that I'm not encouraging players to do this. However, it's your game and if this brings you happiness then this is how you do it.

Wait, which one is the Bullcrappie Drivercar GT? i can't find it on the list of cars...(no, i'm just kidding :) )

Thanks a lot bro! This answer was really comprehensive, now i get it, most people use the duping thing to gift a car and still hold on to it. At a high level in the game, money is not really an issue, but this is a way not to lose unique cars, specially "triple zeroes".

Thanks to Hyped and Pit Crew too!

Nice explanation IceMan 👍. I have a quick question about the part I bolded. Wouldn't you need to wait a day to send it back to Adam? If not why? My understanding is that you can only send one car a day per PS3.

I use two accounts. Not much in account B at all, (maybtheater cars and a handful of tickets) as anything I send to account B is gifted back to account A after the next reset.

Here's a question...

Let's say Account A has 19,000,000 credits, 200 cars, 25 tickets and is on day 400.
Account B is on day 4, with three cars and three tickets.

If I am signed in to PS3 and GT5 as account B, but have my account A flash drive in my PS3, if I load account A's loaded save file to account B, will account B have all that stuff suddenly?

No the game won't recognize the save file and just create a new one.

Why does account B need to be backed up?
You dont really need more than 1 flash drive. I use it as a precaution so as not to mistakenly overwrite main account with B account information and vice versa.

I'm pretty sure you can send one car a day per account.

So once account B received a car, it could then send it right away to any other account.

No this is incorrect, it used to be that way in the beginning, but now it's one car a day per PS3 system.

Then this would be incorrect ---> "gift it straight back to Adam"

I might not have been clear... I'm not creating a save file, just copying save file A to the PS3 and playing with username B, and possibly a stocked garage instantly.

It will tell you "You are trying to load another user's data. You cannot load this data. A new save will be created" (something like that).

I tried that yesterday, that's how i thought it worked too, but no joy :)

Yes, exactly. He probably meant gift it back next day.
Thanks guys. That's what I thought but I wasn't 100% sure.
