Not a whole lot going on in this forum ...

Hey, do any of you have a DVD Jukebox? A couple friends of mine have the older Sony 300 disk changers, but those are somewhat lacking in playback options. There is a newer 400 disk from Sony that does all the formats, but is still lacking in menu options. I was wondering what other options I had and have been able to find very little information on the internet.

For anyone interested, or not interested, there is a Pioneer 300+1 DVD Jukebox for $1,100 and the Sony 400+1 DVD Jukebox for $400 (I think this is a no-brainer).

Has ANYONE seen ANYTHING that fits this catagory?

Not looking good, LM.

My DVD player of choice is a 5-disc Sony.

*goes to check out the 400 disc changer and returns with a question of his own*:
What the hell, besides the color and warranty, is the big difference between the $400 and $800 DVD player? I don't have time right now to dig through the specs.

It has serial support. Meaning you can hook it up to something that can control it over a serial connection. Like an AMX system (:

I did notice that, but $400 for that? Wouldn't do me a bit of good. :)

BTW, What would this beauty be hooked up to? Something worthy, I hope.

I'd like to hook it up either to the 60" or 70" Sony XBR, but unfortunately that's the price of a used car and it's hard for me to come to terms with that much money in one piece of electronics. So I'll probably end up with a smaller older model.

$5500 and $7000? A least your sights aren't set too high.

And I suppose this would be the receiver of choice, or do you have your heart set on Sony?

Actually Circuit City has the 60" for $4,500 (just found) and it's listed as low as $3,600 on other sites. A bit shocking if you ask me.

Denon ... mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. I wonder if that RJ-45 port is for networking.

The Sony is alright. Looks better than it performs. And it only has two component inputs? WEAK!

Hey I'm off to lunch. More later.

Yeah, go for the Pioneer.
